As a woman, it’s sometimes incredibly difficult to feel enough—thin enough, pretty enough, tall enough, poised enough, put together enough, safe enough, elegant enough, free enough. ⠀ ⠀ But there’s just something about being in your wedding dress... I slid into that dress and it fit perfectly. It was completely me. I felt confident and strong and gorgeous and no matter what I thought before, I was now incredible.⠀ ⠀ But let me tell you a secret. ⠀ ⠀ The dress doesn’t matter.⠀ ⠀ Yes, it was dazzling to find something that represented the security I felt with Tanner, the love I had for him and let’s just be real—being in a beautiful dress made me feel hot. But I was and am perfectly capable of being strong, beautiful, elegant, poised, free, and cherished without the dress. ⠀ ⠀ If you feel that way in your dress, don’t feel guilty! It’s 100% okay—and encouraged— to feel like a million bucks in your wedding dress. But don’t think for a second that you aren’t a million bucks without it. @samanthakindred host @erinwilsonphoto dress @chantillycouturebridal calligraphy @paper_supply_co florals @vaseandvine dresses @bellabridesmaids tux @mr.tux_ar cake @earthandhoneycakes
2018—I chose this photo because it represents one of the biggest things I did this year—investing in myself and my dreams. ⠀ ⠀ It has been a huge year of growth for me—attending several workshops, one in Paris, shooting film more consistently, constantly learning and soaking things in. I’ve grown as a business owner, and as a film photographer...as an individual and as a wife...as a friend and as a traveler. I’ve grown in so many ways, it’s hard to account for it all.⠀ ⠀ Today, I’m writing down all my goals for this year—a lot of which include getting over the things holding me back, working my butt off and showing my husband parts of the world that have really shaped who I am (we’re going to Europe people!)⠀ ⠀ What are some of your goals this year? Share a few below and let’s keep accountable 👇🏼🖤 styling @stay__co model @sinarabarbosa hmu @ckennedybeauty outfits @paolocoronaofficial florals @floraisonparis paper suite @carta_plena
I am enamored by your affection and care for me. I’m constantly amazed by your ability to love me through all my faults and hangry spats. I am in love with your sense of adventure and curiosity of the world and the people and cultures in it. I am in awe of how you treat those around you and make everyone in the room feel heard. You deserve to be celebrated well—and celebrate, we did.⠀ ⠀ Today, (and yesterday) and every day.. I love you and I am proud to be your wife. Happy Birthday, love.
We are in San Francisco this week to visit my brother for Christmas and these streets are so incredible.⠀ ⠀ Today, we went on a tour of Little Italy (North Beach) and we felt right at home. I should say we ate our way through North Beach—we started with coffee and cannoli, then had antipasta at a little deli, 7 layer fudge at a candy store, mozzarella panini and bruschetta at a place called Acquolina, and finally pizza at a place called Mona Lisa. In between the food, we ventured into an old map store, a couple of churches and the oldest hatmakers in SF.⠀ ⠀ I’m excited for things to come and have had a lot of fun already seeing my brother’s new home and exploring this hilly city. I’ll be sharing lots on my stories, so you can see what we did today and our adventures the rest of this week on my stories!⠀ ⠀ These streets are reminding me of this insanely gorgeous shoot in the streets of Paris...⠀ @thepathworkshops⠀ @darcybenincosa⠀ makeup @ckennedybeauty⠀ styling @stay_co⠀ model @bcommebea⠀ wardrobe @shopstressed
As 2018 is wrapping up, I’m thinking about all of the incredible people I have had the pleasure of working with and all the places I’ve gotten to go. ⠀ ⠀ My experience in Paris in October was one I will never forget. I have never experienced Paris quite like that before and since I am constantly changing, I will never experience quite like that again.⠀ ⠀ I always knew that styling was an important part of putting together a shoot, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it in action like I did in Paris. Erica at @stay__co is a goddess. She effortlessly created Parisian visions that came together flawlessly. Every single shoot was unique and perfection. Every detail thought of. ⠀ ⠀ I’m thankful to have worked with such an incredible stylist and now can’t imagine working without one. Erica, thank you for being wonderful and thank you enduring all my questions about my wardrobe. 🖤
This photo is so much more than some perfume, a bow tie, and a handkerchief...⠀ ⠀ The perfume was what she was wearing on their first date. Smell memories are powerful and now when she wears it, they will think not only of their first date, but of their wedding day. ⠀ ⠀ This bow tie was worn by his grandfather and when he passed it was given to him.⠀ ⠀ This handkerchief was his grandmother’s and has a piece of lace from her wedding gown sewn onto it. Every girl that married into the family received it as a gift and carried it with them down the aisle.⠀ ⠀ These small details are not just things that they carry or wear. They are memories, traditions, family values that run deep and make the whole thing that much more beautiful.
