One look at you, my whole life falls in line. I prayed for you, before I called you mine. -ruelle
We had a really crazy weekend with a funeral, photographing a wedding, hosting overnight guests, and a dinner party last night. Yesterday afternoon as we rushed around prepping for our dinner guests, I had to smile. Garret has come to know me so well. Without being asked he began setting the table with my (purposely) mismatched plates. He arranged them carefully, distributing the colors and patterns across the table just as I would have done it. Then he lit my favorite @anthropologie candle and asked if he should light any others. - There’s such a sweetness that comes with time in a relationship. I love that we know each other so well. I love that we work so well as a team. - People often ask why I chose to focus on photographing weddings. It’s because I believe in marriage. There’s something special about committing to the hard, and the easy, the good, the bad, and doing it all together. Marriage is worth celebrating and it’s worth fighting for and it is so, so beautiful! 💕
Today I checked things off my to do list while someone deep cleaned my house. I’ll be honest, when my husband first suggested hiring someone to clean during this busy season, I didn’t want to. I thought, “I should be able to do it myself” and felt guilty for spending the money. Thank goodness he talked me into it. It is so freeing to admit that I can’t do it all and I need help. And it feels so good! - Friends and fellow #girlbosses, there is value in delegating what you aren’t good at, don’t enjoy, or don’t have time for!
Photographing wedding number 2 of the weekend and celebrating these cuties! I’m pretty excited that @gstewartbiz is friends with the groom and gets to be my wedding date! 💕
Happy wedding day Jordan + Sara! - Today’s wedding is extra special... one of my sisters is the matron of honor, the other is my second shooter, and we consider the bride an honorary sister in our family. I can’t wait! - Link to engagement photos in profile!
Yesterday I photographed the most sweet, meaningful, and genuine wedding... the bouquets came straight from her grandad’s garden, they washed each other’s feet during the ceremony, we ate pie for dessert, and they ended the evening inviting me to join them as they jumped on the neighbor’s trampoline. I loved every minute of it of this beautiful marriage celebration!
