3 Critical Must Have Business Tools! We are always talking about business, marketing, and systems as our critical business operating tools! Yup, if you don’t have them you’re done, dead in the water, and going to be on a sinking ship. But, let’s discuss today… ...another critical set of business tools that are often not given the credit they deserve for fueling up our businesses, keeping us energized throughout the day, and igniting the fires of motivation and inspiration. I think we need to recognize and immortalize: The Coffee Mug. The Water Bottle. The Wine Glass Most days you can find me drinking coffee, to kick start the day from 1 of the 14 (or so) Star War mugs I have gotten from my coaches/students in my courses. It is safe to say, they get me. A little later in the day, you will catch me at my desk aggressively typing away. Anna says I’m pounding the keys I call it typing with purpose! But, whenever I’m working on the mission at hand, I love having my “Honor the Struggle” bottle that reminds me it’s good to struggle through, stuff is meant to be hard so it’s worth it. I keep that bottle filled with water and lemon right at the ready position so I can be hydrating up and keep the energy going. Then at night, when the mission is a little more chill, but still inspired, I like to pour a glass of red wine in a wine glass that covers the size of my face while I plot away. All of these vessels fuel my business and life. What about you? What’s the trio of critical tools that you just gotta have in your day to make it function just right? What is your favorite cup? or drink of choice? Comment below. Sending a picture is bonus points in my book. You may even get a mystery bottle at your doorstep if you do so ;)
Do you know the TWO things you need to make your dreams a reality? It was 7 years ago, February 2010, when I was sitting at a Todd Durkin Mastermind meeting when Larry Indiviglia reiterated to me with certainty what my intention was- one day you will live in a Tuscan Villa in Tuscany. He felt it. He even wrote it down on a 3x5 postcard and said hold onto this- you’re going to make it happen. I had that intention set. Clear. Crystal clear. I had no idea how to get there. That wasn’t what was important. First, things first. Certainty. You need certainty and clarity for the vision you want to live if you ever hope to stop living the “wishful” life and make things more the “certain” life. I had that. I could feel in my bones that I would make that happen to the point that people outside of me, sensed it. That’s the power of clarity and certainty. You can’t get to your dreams with wishy washy vision. You can’t get to your dreams with hope. It’s not a strategy. You need clarity of vision so you can AIM your actions. AIM your intentions. AIM your focus. The world is a non-stop blitzkrieg on your attention than to have the intention, clarity and vision is a SKILL you have to develop. Without clarity you will live reactionary all your life, then you can kiss your dreams good bye. It took 7 years to make that intention of having a Tuscan Villa real. It took a lot of twists and turns. Something you should prepare for as you figure your way to your dreams. Don’t expect that path to be straight, or that you will know everything, or that it will be easy. You will evolve. You MUST evolve. The secret is clarity. With clarity, I was able to make choices, take certain strategic actions, align with the right people, study the things I had to learn SO THAT my dream wouldn’t stay a dream, instead it would become a reality. If you’re not clear what your vision is yet, STOP. Do that before anything else. Don’t do another thing until you’re clear what you want, where you want to go, who you have to serve to get it, and why you’re doing it. Then set the intention and create your clear vision planner! ⬇️ continue in the comments

When I was feeling STUCK, at the bottom of the barrel…$105,000 in debt, house short sold, and girlfriend dumping me all in a month, I still owned ONE thing. No one could take it away from me. You know what it is? Clarity of Vision. I had a clear vision of my goals. Clear vision of who I wanted to serve. Clear vision that I was willing to get coached to stop messing up alone. Clear vision that I while I might not be doing the best job of it at that time...one day I would be a successful LEADER and NEVER look back again Admittedly, I couldn’t see every step. But, I was clear on my ability to take action when the steps revealed themselves. Took a lot of mentoring, trial and error and study to figure them out. At IDEA World, I shared one of the principle reasons why people struggle the way I did to have true, lasting and consistent success is lack of clarity. The cure I showed them is what I call Principle #3: Get and Maintain Clarity. Clarity is where you know how to keep the main thing, the main thing. It is the key to you finally seeing yourself as a leader in the industry and knowing you got what it takes to stay there. With clarity you can speed up success. Not lose time doing the wrong things or following the wrong people and advice. You can avoid mistakes like the ones I made that nearly bankrupt me. I wish I had someone tell me then what I know now. But I didn’t. I’m going to be sharing the first steps to truly being a leader that knows how to lay down the law, not follow others. Stay tuned for the opportunity to learn these. What is the #1 thing you lack clarity on that is holding you back? For real. Drop it below or PM. I’ll help get you over it. - V ps - If you're stuck and want to see how to take that lack of clarity really back, check out the waitlist we have filling up to get in my next 14 day course, The Clear Vision Planner. Slow down. You can see your vision better when you do. Journal it out. Speak it out to a mentor. Do something... because there are too many of us going the fast way when we can slow down, get clearer on our vision, get our playbook together, and hard charge into our big vision(ary) plan.
Do you have any dream come true moments? This weekend was one for me and I think you can take something away from it so you can have more of them. People often ask, how do you do it? How do I continue to serve fit pros, fitness enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, visionaries without burning out. How I do it. Simple. But, most don't know (or do) it. Always have a mentor that challenges you. Always have a team of principle oriented people around you. There is something grounding about people with principle. People that are governed by a set of beliefs and convictions that move their decisions. It feels like yesterday that I was clapping and jumping up and down like I was at a Pearl Jam concert, but I wasn’t. I was at a personal development conference called, High Performance Academy. That event was held by Brendon Burchard whose standing straight in the back, albeit a little incognito as he was out enjoying a day in NOLA with his wife after dropping serious keynote bombs at the Beachbody Summit. I remember that day at HPA the way you would remember any defining moment in your life, because it was 4 years ago in that room in San Jose, CA that I turned to my then girlfriend (now wife), Anna and said “one day I will be sitting in a room with that guy in his mastermind.” That reality took 4 years. Lots of his courses and a commitment to EARN being in that room. So many people want their personal development to be free. Wrong. It should be earned otherwise, it’s devalued. Not scratched and clawed for. You want to know something though about vision setting and intentions...they are better when you set them for more than yourself. That vision of being able to learn more intimately from what I consider one of the greatest minds of our modern age, wasn’t just to brush elbows with the #1 High Performance Coach in the world, that vision was for these faces, my team, the team I didn’t know I would have, but knew I would create. Setting the intention to play the long game is the greatest testament to any mentor for how you pay forward the message and the gifts they share with you. It’s your story that matters now.
