Thank you YBICOALITION for allowing us to share about our organization and our launch party 🥳🎉❤️ this Saturday on your platform!! ——————————————————— Join Media Done Responsibly @mediadoneresponsibly as we introduce and launch our latest program MDR ArtHouse & Café, an online community that cultivates and celebrates art, discusses culture, and creates civil dialogues around social issues in an accessible way. To kick off this launch, Media Done Responsibly is hosting a virtual launch party LIVE on January 16, 2021, 5:00-9:00 pm PST with live music, poetry, percussion, and comedy performances. Hosted by Actor & Poet Sean Hill & featuring special guest performances from Kelley Nicole, Michael Diallo McLendon, Grace E. duMaine, Erik Escobar, Kunama Mtendaji, and Shaunelle Curry. Media Done Responsibly aims to nurture a digital safe space where everyday people may create a counternarrative to the “single story” by sharing their authentic selves from their own perspectives. This digital safe space allows people to express their thoughts, feelings, and opinions without judgment and engage in conversations where they may gain a new understanding of others’ morals’, beliefs, and opinions through the practice of engaged listening. Media Done Responsibly’s membership community is a hub of culture, where music, art, films, books, poetry, and civil dialogue meet. MDR ArtHouse & Café is a place where content creators can tell stories surrounding their complex humanity from their own perspective. *Please be aware this platform to participate requires Google Chrome to access and in order to fully engage you must use a desktop or laptop computer. Mobile devices such as iPads and phones do not allow full use of the platform. Please join a few minutes early to get setup!

#repost @shantiwithin ・・・ I am not allowing anyone to steal my #browngirl joy today. TOMORROW my book Meditation with Intention by @llewellynbooks comes out. Due out on 1/08 and that was not a date I chose but selected by Divine intervention. 108 is the most auspicious number in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. As I hold my book in my hands I feel so grateful to God and feel the presence of my ancestors guiding me forward on my path of dharma in this life. This is for them. This is for their resistance of 443 years of colonisation and oppression in Sri Lanka under 3 different white supremacist regimes. Their strength, courage and resistance enabled us to hold onto our Tamil culture and indigenous faith of Sanatana Dharma so I can share my ancestral wisdom with you all through this book and my teachings. Thank you to my dear friend and colleague @hoaghealth @drkhanbreastsurgeon for writing the foreword. I am grateful to have a fellow South Asian sister on this journey. You don’t often find Hindu and Muslim coming together but that is what my book is all about and what we clearly need more of in the world. Unity through honouring the essence of Yoga. 👉🏾 Today I ask for your help. Please share this post, tag a friend and preorder your copy today via link in bio. We need greater representation of BIWOC voices in mainstream wellness publishing. You can help make this happen. This is allyship 🙏🏾🕉 #meditate #unity #bookclub

#repost @melmelklein ・・・ "I learned to deeply listen to my body and honor and meet its needs. I experienced joy as I moved mindfully. I began to accept what was present in the moment over what I thought it “should” be. I created space for silence. I sat with discomfort. I prioritized what I was feeling versus what my body or my yoga practice looked like. I learned what it meant to practice moderation and forgiveness with myself. I called a truce with my body. I embodied gratitude." NEW POST over at @omstarsofficial to start the third year in the yoga and body image series in collaboration with the @ybicoalition Photo: @saritphoto
