Part of Mother Teresa’s Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech was this “And we will love naturally, we will try to do something. First in our own home, next door neighbor in the country we live, in the whole world.” ⠀ •⠀ I definitely have a long way to go🤷🏽♀️but one way I love people is through preparing a healthy, home cooked meal. I know I’m not alone. I’m starting in my family...Heading to the neighbors, and then the whole world. Who’s with me?! Better yet, who’s my neighbor?! I should probably start there 😂⠀ •⠀ Tonight’s easy chicken Marsala recipe can be found on RainieRobinson.com (link in profile). ❤️❤️❤️ • • • • • • • #foodie #foodiegram #thekitchn #feedfeed #huffposttaste #foodphoto #foodforthought #foodforfoodies #foodforlife #feastagram #yummyfood #foodies #healthydinner #homemadefood #foodbloggers #foodstagram #cleaneats #plated
I’m thinking “hard season” has whole new meaning in 2020, but we serve a God who can use our hardship for good. He needs us, people of every race, people of every background, people of every vocation, people who are living a purpose driven life and living in their calling, to step into what He has called us to do. • Coronavirus highlighted nurses and how important they are, but we already knew that, didn’t we @janeycarterr?!🥰🥰 • Listen in to the newest episode of #thirtyishpodcast where we celebrate nursing with a special episode all about living in your purpose. • Tabitha has a gift for serving others and making hard seasons just a little bit better! Each time she walked into Janey’s room to start her shift for the day, we were able to relax. We knew it would be a good day with a nurse that we trusted, enjoyed talking to, and that loved what she was doing! I think you’ll love her just as much as we do!🥰 Listen by searching “Thirty-ish” on iTunes or clicking the link in my profile!
Today marks the 25th anniversary of Christopher Reeve’s life changing accident. 3 years ago I would have thought that was a sad tragedy and honestly, not given much more thought to it. Now, while still a tragedy, without him, where would the world of paralysis be? I believe that while everything may not happen for a reason, we can find purpose in everything. I’m thankful that Christopher Reeve found purpose in his tragedy. I’m thankful that he didn’t make excuses or say it was too hard. ⠀ •⠀⠀ It’s easy to think- how could a good God allow that to happen to an innocent man? Honestly, I don’t know and, as humans, we find this tragically unfair. I often think about how *I think * God sees it, though, and while I know His thoughts are higher than ours, His ways are higher than our ways, I think He gives us tiny glimpses in our own section of the world. Each one of us can make an impact wherever we are. •⠀⠀ With more of God and less of me, plus a little hindsight, I can see that Superman could have been paralyzed and done absolutely nothing with it. Janey, could be paralyzed and do nothing with it. In the same way, I could have perfectly functional legs and do nothing with them. Instead, he chose to use it for the greater good, and she is too. I’m using my legs for those who can’t and I want you to join me ❤️Christopher Reeve’s decision to truly live left an impact for generations to come. The Reeve Foundation is working on research to cure paralysis and I want to be part of that!⠀⠀ •⠀ Earlier this year, I met @juliegrauert from #TeamReeve and as soon as I saw her group and their shirts, I needed to know how to join them! @kellyclamb reached out and told me how to sign up for the race @virginia_o_anderson talked me in to for April, which is now scheduled for October 🤷🏽♀️ So, basically, you have plenty of time to join us for the @bhm262 🙌🏻 • Head to the link in my profile to join my team or to donate. Janey used to run with me and I want to See Jane Run again. In the meantime, I’d love to have you as my running buddy! Don’t worry about the distance, if you think you can’t do it, change your mind and the rest will follow❤️
Hey guys! Meet Walt. Not the most suitable name, I know... but he showed up during an Epcot party so we named him after the man himself. We also did not know we would be keeping him or we likely would have chosen a stronger name...Maybe Chief or Thor... even Scooby would fit, but Walt it is. •⠀ We didn’t want a dog (bc #responsibility) but he’s been here for 2 weeks and I officially took him to the vet so I guess you could say, he’s Walt Wobinson, here to stay😂 Plus, @jtrobinsons and @janeycarterr really like him so🤷🏽♀️ (I do too but I can’t tell people- it’ll ruin my image😉) • I hope his photo brings you a little joy❤️ • Happy Memorial Day Weekend! 🇺🇸 Celebrate with the shrimp boil recipe in my highlights!! 🍤
