You're looking at my jar of selenium supplements (aka Brazil nuts 😉). Brazil nuts, or as I like to call them, selenium nuts are well-known for their connection to thyroid health (since selenium is required for the proper production of thyroid hormones and the conversion of T4 to T3) but did you know that selenium is also required for the production of glutathione (the antioxidant of all antioxidants!). Glutathione is necessary for your body's natural detoxification pathways to function optimally, so here's a friendly reminder to stock up on “selenium nuts” next time you're at the store. Don't worry too much about the price... just 2 nuts/day can provide ~200mcg, which is the recommended amount 👌🏼 Note: Don’t go overboard with these 🚫 the safe upper daily limit for selenium is ~400mcg. Oh, and I like to store mine in the fridge (like I do for all nuts & seeds) to prevent oxidation.
Remember: it all matters and ALL impacts your health! So do the best you can with what you have, and don’t forget to give yourself grace to enjoy the journey (because your health depends on it!) ✨ Tag a friend below who should hear this today 💚
These lotion bars 😍 are my new go-to for dry, chapped winter skin! Why? Because they are deeply hydrating and melt as soon as you apply them to your skin ✨ They’re water-free, which means you’re getting 100% of the undiluted nutrients that nourish dry skin (oils, butters, and essential oils). In fact, the grapefruit lotion bar is actually why Kosmatology exists today (the founder created it for her daughter’s eczema). I like to apply the lavender one every evening because lavender = relaxation 😴 Have you tried these yet? As always, code healthfullyhannah saves you @kosmatology! 💫

It's here!...the FIRST article in my brand new series on INFLAMMATION 🔥 which is truly at the root of almost all chronic conditions + symptoms. I'm so excited to share this series with you because inflammation is typically the first area I address when getting my nutrition clients back to vibrant health - it's essential for healing! ✨⠀ ⠀⠀ In the article, I'm sharing what inflammation actually is + how it's behind a wide range of chronic conditions. It can appear in the body in many different ways: from headaches, skin conditions, and excess weight, to inflammatory conditions, gut issues, and autoimmune diseases - these all have inflammation as an underlying factor.⠀ ⠀⠀ Click the link in my profile for 8 Ways to Reduce Inflammation 💥 Some may be new to you and ONE I have *never* shared before 👣😉
Don’t forget to stock up on the most ✨colorful✨ fruits and veggies you can find next time you go to the store! 🛒 The more colorful the food, the more health-boosting phytonutrients it contains! If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that I don’t identify with or promote any one “diet” over another (not only are diets typically very restrictive and can lead to harmful relationships with food) but they each have their downsides (yes even #whole30, #paleo, #keto, #vegan, etc...popular diets that I’m often asked about). I believe in eating REAL FOOD that nourishes every cell in your body, that promotes healing from the inside out, and that truly makes you feel your BEST. #itsalifestylenotadiet
Whipped up this smoothie yesterday (and today!) and it was so delicious I decided it must be shared! I never measure ingredients (🙊) but this is pretty close : 1/4 cup full fat blended coconut milk (I used coconut milk from a can... and blended it first because it naturally separates), 1 cup almond milk, 1 cup frozen strawberries and cherries, 2 scoops @vitalproteins collagen peptides, and 1 tablespoon of @navitasorganics raw cacao powder! Cacao powder is a polyphenol (great for heart health and gut health!) It’s also high in magnesium, which most of us are deficient in. If you want this to be sweeter, throw in some frozen banana or a date. I’m on a low-sugar gut balancing protocol right now, so this isn’t too sweet - but it’s still delicious! 🍓🍒🍫
