These tiny pieces of metal hit your cars paint and bond to it. Normal washing and polishing won’t remove these, and over time they can begin to Oxidise and turn rusty. If left unchecked, in some cases this can cause serious problems with the clearcoat on your car. Using a dedicated iron fallout remover such as the one I used in these photos (from @hdvaleting) is the best way of removing these particles. It reacts with the iron (turning the particles purple) and breaks the bond between it and the paint. Once this reaction has taken place, you can safely rinse it from the car.
