Working mainly in Afghanistan, Somalia and Syria, Jacob takes on roles including photojournalist and aid worker and holds a firm belief that humans can overcome the greatest of hardships when given a chance. . Multicultural grandmothers cook-off – Sunday 1 July Presented by MMV in partnership with ABC Radio Melbourne. In the spirit of healthy (and tasty) competition, five grandmothers from Chinese, Greek, Islamic, Jewish and Italian communities, will be showing off their culinary skills in the third Multicultural Museums Victoria cook-off! The cook-off challenges each grandmother to cook a meal inspired by their cultural backgrounds. The participating chefs will have just over an hour to prepare a main dish from scratch. To celebrate the blessed month of Ramadan, Islamic Museum of Australia welcomed 38 Year 6 students and 3 teachers from the Australian International Academy (AIA) on 29 May as part of a special Ramadan Package, jointly developed and offered with Commbank. The students took part in a Commbank Financial Literacy Workshop, a Ramadan talk and tour of the museum, and a sustainable cooking on a budget workshop. A very engaging day overall.
