If you ever see me taking photos in real life, you’ll probably see me in a really awkward stance. Gotta anchor those elbows! 😂 In this shot, I’m using my knees to anchor my elbows, which are steading my camera to avoid a shaky image. You can also lean against a wall or use a table to steady yourself. If your images are blurry (but you’re photographing a still subject), you might be having motion blur from not holding your hands steady enough. Do you want more tips for phone photos? Yep, I’m loving these GIFs 😉 This week’s #socialsaturdaytip is to PLAN YOUR CONTENT TOPICS. This doesn’t mean scheduling all of your content in advanced (although that’s super helpful), but it means creating a weekly content calendar so you know what you want to talk about when. If you want more tips for creating an Instagram Content Calendar, or you want the free printable calendar (swipe) check out my newest blog post, link in my profile!
So I might have had a little too much fun making this gif a few weeks ago 😂 But it made me want to implement more animated content into my social media and website. What do you think? Would more videos/gifs/motion be fun to see? Let me know in the comments! Ps. Did you know it’s pronounced JIF, like the peanut butter? I refuse to change lol

If you couldn’t tell from yesterday's post, fear has been on my mind a lot lately. I honestly thought I wasn’t scared of anything in my business, but what I finally realized was that I was playing it safe. Which is NUTS because as an entrepreneur, we are gambling already, so why not just leap? This quote from Nelson Mandala really depicts my thought process right now. Why should we spend another second making choices out of fear, when we can make them out of hope, passion, desire, and excitement?! If you’re teetering on the edge of a big leap, what’s holding you back? I’d love to hear from you in the comments! (And hopefully hold your hand as you take the plunge). #theeverygirl #girlboss #bloguettes #blogginggals #girlpreneur #fueledwithheart #heartcenteredbusiness #pursuepretty #wearethecreativeeconomy #mycreativeempire #societygal #youbelong #wemakecreative #thecreativegrid #calledtocreate #caffeinateandconquer #lessworkmorelife #buildingbossladies
I took a lot of time off of photography to focus on growing my business that specialized in solely social media marketing. After about 14+ months of struggling, I realized my heart wasn’t in it. Don’t get me wrong, social media is a talent of mine, but it’s never been the center of my passions. I realized I was promoting my social marketing services out of fear instead of excitement. After finally deciding that social media consulting should only be a small part of my business, everything sort of clicked into place. But I had to overcome the fear that I “wouldn’t” make money if I pursued photography and brand strategy. I was chasing the money, not the dream, and that actually left me stagnant and without a lot of clients. Since I’ve rebranded to Brand Strategy Co and pivoted myself more towards photography, I’ve seen such a positive improvement in inquiry to booking rates, AND had such an engaged and excited audience on Instagram, which is kinda the whole point! Thanks for those who have been following this wild ride😉 #Createcultivate #blogsociety #societygal #theeverygirl #creativityfound #pursuepretty #flashesofdelight #thatsdarling #livecolorfully #darlingmovement #thehappynow #abmhappylife #youbelong #wearethecreativeeconomy

It’s 8pm on a Thursday, and you panic when you realize you haven’t posted on Instagram in a few days. You’re not sure what to post, but you scroll through your camera roll to find your best photo of a pretty meal you ate last weekend. You pair the image with a caption like “Is anyone else OBSESSED with avocado toast?!” while silently wondering what the point of this post is. You add a quick filter to the image for pizazz, and reluctantly click “Share”. And in fourish days, you’ll repeat this process all over again. But imagine if your Instagram posts where exciting. It’s time for another #socialtipsaturday! These week’s tip is: clean up your feed by posting photos utilizing negative space after posting a busy and colorful photo. This will make sure feed look more curated and cohesive. Start with flat lays that have solid backgrounds and great use of space, and alternate with your busier scenes. Grab some flat lay inspiration on my recent blog post, 30 Flat Lay Inspiration photos, link in profile. Styling by me, furniture by @treasured.events, florals by @wildflowersbydesign
