Hi friends, I’m Emily! You probably haven’t seen my face around here in a while. I thought I’d share a bit of my story today and get to know you a little better. . I’m a wedding designer that moved from Raleigh, NC to Atlanta, GA with my husband and our boxer pup almost two years ago. I had a dream of launching my destination wedding company WanderWed and Atlanta seemed like the ideal location for it. That dream got put on hold when I ended up pregnant only a few short months after our move. (I feel like this sounds disappointing on here, but it really was a blessing!) . Pregnancy wasn’t easy so I only took on a few weddings during that time. After my son Easton was born, I thought life was going to get way easier. It didn’t. The sleepless nights and nursing my son were much harder than expected, but we carried on and tried to enjoy every moment of this wonderful and challenging journey. I only took on a few weddings during this time as well. . My son turned one last month and life has FINALLY gotten easier. The moment I was dreaming of where I could really start to focus on #emilyclaireevents again has come. 🙌🏻 . The great part of having a child is the way it changes your view on the world. I feel more connected to my designs than ever. I feel more passion to tell my couples stories than ever before! I want to go deeper and curate meaningful designs that share the heart behind them. Let’s create more than just pretty. . Photo @heathergracebeerman & @jakestephenbeerman
The Swan House is one of my favorite venues in Atlanta and I’ve found that it’s also one of the trickiest to work at. I’m sure all the other wedding planners and photographers out there will agree! . This is why it’s crucial to choose a talented team that knows how to work in the space. The sunlight at the Swan House is constantly moving and all the beautiful trees and shadows can make it a tricky space to shoot in. A good photographer will know how to master this and I’m happy to give you some suggestions on amazing ones 👌🏼 . Every venue has it’s challenges (limited setup timeframes, long distances between locations, tricky rain plans) and the things that make it extra special (beautiful architecture, wide open spaces, lots of natural light). If you have a great team behind you, then you can be sure that the positives will shine and the challenges will be handled. Team work makes the dream work! . Dropping my first B&W photo on here! These two are 🔥 and that grainy film fills my soul. Expect to see more of this mood and fashion from me this year. . If having a baby has taught me anything, it’s not to be afraid of sharing who you are because life flies by. I want to show you more of my passion behind the weddings I design and the amazing couples I’m lucky to work with. . Here’s to more realness and less “pretty” in 2019! Is anyone else already struggling with their New Year’s goals or resolutions? . I told myself (and therefore you) that I would be more present on social media and I’ve already started slacking. Friends, let’s help keep each other accountable! . What are your goals? What do you need help with? How can I help keep you accountable? . I can’t wait to see all the beauty that comes about in 2019 from these goals we’ve set for ourselves! Let’s do this. . This morning I was thinking about the power that a pair of heels can give you, especially gorgeous heels on your wedding day. There is something about slipping on a pair of heels that makes you stand a little straighter and feel more confident than ever. . After almost a year of being pregnant and almost a year of moming, I slipped on some heels for the first time this month. It felt amazing. I promised myself I would do it more often and I promised that I would remember to care for myself sometimes instead of always caring for others. That's the power that a pair of heels can hold for a woman. They're a wonderful thing! Even if they do hurt a little... 👠 . Photo @still55 for the beautiful @andannabelle wedding. I want to tell your story. I want to design weddings that go deeper. I want to see couples that declare their love on mountain tops or in old inspiring buildings. I want happy tears, loving glances, and hand written vows. Let's go deeper. Let's reveal your heart. ... Just a couple words that have been on my heart recently. An evolution in life and work. ... While scrolling through photos today, this sweet little green sprig just stopped me in my tracks. Something about it makes me happy and the gorgeous invite by @linenandleaf definitely helps! I've been foraging recently and trying to continually add a bit of green to my home. It really does make a difference and helps the fact that I can't keep a plant alive for anything! Is anyone else trying to take in these last days of Fall before it's all gone??
Happy Thanksgiving, friends! Head over to my stories to see what I'm extra thankful for this year 🤰🏼🐶❤️ As seen on @stylemepretty Photo by @perryvaile #emilyclaireevents
Engagement season is starting and I can't wait to hear the sweet stories about that special day! It's one of my favorite parts of getting to know my clients and learning all about the way their love story began. I'm a sucker for romance and pretty vintage ring boxes like this one here!
