True love is everywhere on a wedding day. It’s in the eager anticipation as the groom anxiously watches the aisle. It’s in the palpable electricity when they first lock eyes. And, it’s in the groom dead sprinting into the house to let his bride know “Backstreet’s Back” just started playing, and she better make her way to the dance floor STAT. . I was going to dedicate this post to the fact that Kelly & Chris — the first couple to book me last year — truly catapulted my career, but BSB is obviously much more important. I’m so glad I caught that moment on the dance floor — it rivals this sunset for my favorite part of the night. (Congrats to Kelly & Chris!) . Photo = video screenshot | #thekellytomykelly
The top 5 things travel’s taught me over the years are ... drumroll ... 🔅 Everyone has a story that’s worth being told (that’s the main reason I got into journalism in the first place!) 🔅 Getting lost is, like, the greatest 🔅 Pretty photos are hardly as important as the memories behind them 🔅 Life was meant for so much more than 40 hours in a cubicle 🔅 No matter language or nationality, the human race has far more in common than we realize — it’s time we start treating each other that way . What are some of your favorite lessons from the road? . Pictured here: me in the historic Delfshaven neighborhood of Rotterdam, where the pilgrims first embarked on their trip to America!
A little love story to start your Sunday 🧡 . In between passionate embraces and giddy excitement, I couldn't help but notice the deep, unbreakable bond that Julianne and Ryan share. Sure, we were all wrapped up in the beauty of this seaside Hamptons wedding, but their love goes much deeper than (incredibly perfect) white dresses and I do. . Above everything -- and as I hope this quick trailer shows -- Julianne and Ryan have the most important relationship of all: friendship. Friendship keeps you laughing through the best of times and surviving through the worst. . It was such an honor to film their wedding, and even more so a blessing, as I hope their story keeps all of us grounded in what truly matters when it comes to love. . Oh, and perhaps most importantly, I'm also lucky enough to call these two friends ☺️ Full film coming soon! While it technically translates as “beer from the time,” I took the saying on this glass as a reminder to sit back and enjoy simple moments like the scene behind this photo ... where my mom and I sat in the sun at a Rotterdam beer cafe listening to street music while sampling amazing new brews. (Hello, heaven.) 🍻 What simple moment have you enjoyed most this week?
To the city that’s opened my eyes to what’s possible in this life, thank you a thousand times 🙏 . Do I find myself occasionally frustrated with the hustle and bustle, or the sweaty subway rides? Of course. But in reality, I’d take chaos any day for the chance to pursue all the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities the Big 🍎 presents! . Have you been to NYC?!
Who has Holland must-dos for me?! . I’m heading out for a quick trip to Rotterdam & the surrounding area tomorrow (!!) and am therefore seeking all your must-eats, must-sees and must-dos to make the most of our time! . Pictured here: Me on my first trip to Amsterdam in 2009. Let’s not even bring up how long ago that was... sigh.
I’ve always heard you should surround yourself with successful people, but I like the idea of being around the dreamers and doers still figuring out their paths. . I find so much inspiration in late-night conversations about the next move or the latest and greatest idea. It reminds me that every dreamer (and person, for that matter) is on a circuitous path from point A to B, and once they reach B there’s an even more exciting C and, even better, D and ... you get the picture. . My point in the rambles? It’s okay to never reach your peak, and it’s equally okay to not know where you’re going. Life’s not about FINALLY reaching a destination, it’s about wholeheartedly pursuing your passion(s) to see where the road takes you — and enjoying the beautiful memories (and sometimes messes!) you make along the way. . The real reason I’m posting this photo? If you zoom in really close, you can see Harry in my arms praying I don’t suggest a swim in the ocean 😂
