Do photos like these ever make you roll your eyes and think 🙄that can't be real.. if those kids are that happy eating raw spinach I'm doing something wrong. You're right, it wasn't really real.. all staged. Do you think those veins in my husband's arms were screaming YES, please let's do a fake photoshoot in the kitchen that makes us look so happy and perfect! (no). He only does it because he loves me and I make him. 😂 Because the REAL truth is, we're not perfect and neither is anyone else you follow on this fun little app. We have to keep in mind that this is highlights.. just MOMENTS that happened to be captured. The most important part--whether your photos are professional, blurry iPhone pics or anything in between, is that we are authentic. Authenticity trumps perfection so I'll leave you with this--what you don't see in this image is my housekeeper walking in and saying no offense, your house smells like diapers. My passion to educate people about food was born out of my own experience and struggle with eating and body image. I have always had a hard time accepting my body type, a stalky athletic build, with a serious love for junk food. I have always believed that to uncover the body I always dreamed of having—the one I was created to have, I would have to give up all the things I loved. Chips and salsa? Don’t even look at me 🙈What I have learned is that when we can make choices based on moderation, no food is off limits and we can start to enjoy it again! If you’ve ever lived in a cycle of starving all week long and then letting loose on the weekends, just to find yourself feeling guilty and starting over again on Monday, this is for you. If you're spinning your wheels and feeling stuck, this is for you. There's nothing worse than thinking you're doing everything right and still not seeing change. I’m excited to share that I will be privately coaching to build healthy habits and practical applications of food and fitness to ultimately break FREE from the traps of emotional eating and restrictive dieting and find your balance. Look, I'm not trying to make anyone jealous, but we went to see My Little Pony at the movie theatre as a family last night. That's right...All four of us. Before I get carried away about how ignorant I was to think my 2 year old boy would sit still after an Icee and several handfuls of candy, I'll just tell you my tips to surviving the theatre without blowing your goals! First, no one cares if you bring your own duffle full of snacks and drinks, so take advantage! I pack a big ziplock of pre-measured popcorn from home-since the fun of going to a movie is mindlessly throwing back handfuls at a time. I can have 2 full servings of my fave: lightly sweetened @angiesboomchickapop (that's 7 cups!!!) for a fraction of the calories in the theatre version! Also, pre-measure and pack a few different candy option in snack bags for the kids (or you).. we already have this stuff in our house (especially if you're like me and hoard stashes of Halloween candy since 2011), so we're saving money too! Yes, part of the fun is drooling behind that glass case and coveting those oversized bags of Twizzlers for $14. They might take your money, but don't let them take your progress!
