#FromtheArchive > A flashback to our 2014 exhibition, Children of Palestine: Beyond Numbers, with the UAE-based #PalestineChildrensReliefFund (@thepcrf) that showcased a combination of images of and by children from the Tulkarem refugee camp. Photographers visited the camp and put cameras into the hands of the children, challenging them to record moments in their daily lives - with honest and striking results.
Join multi-media visual artist and storyteller Alia Ali for Speaking in Image, a 1-day interactive photography intensive at GPP on March 11th that addresses how to transfer imagination into 2-dimensional artwork. Through discussion, collaboration, and digital media, Alia's class seeks to instill workshop attendees with creative fuel and the confidence to engage the image as a visual language through which they can document the world, express themselves, and build an audience. #SundaySpotlight > Today we’re highlighting the work of Malick Sidibé, whose B&W photos of post-independence Mali captured the vibrance of the culture, life, and people there. The 80-year old photographer passed away last spring, but he leaves behind him a a beautiful body of work and an impressive legacy in the advancement of photography in the region. We're closed today and tomorrow! It's been a phenomenal 8 days at #GPP17, and we cannot say thank you enough to our instructors, our participants, our crew, partners, @alserkalavenue, and you for making this event such an incredible experience. Now it's time for us to break down and take a much-deserved rest before we get back to work with our stellar, year-round programming. We'll be closed today and tomorrow (February 18th & 19th), but we'll be back in the office and back to normal from Monday, February 20th. See you soon!
