Forgot how much I love putting together flat lays and making my living room impossible to walk in as I put a bunch of cute clothes on a blanket. (In all seriousness, I love doing this and want to start doing it again more often like I used to.)
Having a colorful weekend, but aren’t they all? 🌈
Oh, it’s Friday the 13th? *Quickly scrolls through old photos to find something even a tiny bit in on theme*
Okay, but can all sleeveless dresses tie at the shoulders? My *biggest* shopping pet peeve is that, because I’m so short, dress straps are always way too long on me. Chances are, if I’m wearing a sleeveless dress in a photo, it’s most likely shortened with safety pins since I hardly ever get things altered. Look, you can’t all be as classy as I am so don’t even try 💁♀️
I’m super excited about this dress, so when it came in, I had big plans for a photo shoot this weekend - until nothing worked out. My first plan was to go to Balboa, but it was way too hot to go wander around the beach. My second plan was to get an ice cream cone and take pictures in front of a cute blue wall by the movie theater I was at on Sunday...but when I got there, the wall had been painted black and my ice cream melted all over me within seconds. We then went to the Gardenwalk, which is my fall back for cute walls 5 minutes from my apartment. Of course, none of the walls were under shade. Finally, I grabbed a spot in some shade on these stairs, and voila! I genuinely love the process of looking for photo locations, but having all of my ideas fail in 100 degree weather was a good reminder to not take my dumb hobby so seriously 😅
Dressing cute during heat waves always sounds daunting, but I actually like the challenge. I’m mostly just grateful that I finally figured out how to get my hair to cooperate in milkmaid braids so that it’s up and out of out of my face 🙏
Sunday’s are my everything 🙌 Jon & I are getting out of our hot box of an apartment today to go see Won’t You Be My Neighbor and I can’t wait for all of the tears.
Fun fact: we don’t pay any utilities on our apartment. Less fun fact: we don’t have air conditioning, which means from now until December I’m living in nothing but sleeveless dresses and ponytails.
Can’t say I’ve been feeling patriotic at all lately, but I do like a theme and overdressing for pool parties.
Finally updated my profile pic for the first time in about a year. What can I say? I like risks and I live life on the edge.
