Things I enjoy doing on Mondays : ☕️ Pouring creamer into my coffee. 💻 Opening up my laptop. 🙈 And starting a new business. • That’s right. My friend + partner n’ biz @meg_seitz and I have been playing around (the serious kind of play) with this idea for awhile now. After collaborating on the @hyggeclt blog for over a year now, pulling off the first of many more workshops, and teaming up to help each other’s clients... we thought 🤷🏻♀️💭💁🏼♀️ “We should finally just do the damn thing.” 🎉 So friend, were spilling it ALL out for you today on OUR website and blog. Link in the profile.
So happy you’re my pops, even happier that you’re my friend. Happy DAD day to all the dads! I’m so..you guessed it, happy, this one is mine.
It’s a work away from work day. • Yep! That’s a thing. Sometimes you gotta get out of your normal bubble. (Even if that means just 45 minutes north of town - yep I’m FINALLY checking out Davidson) @inthedetailsdarling and I have got a list of coffee shops and corners that are sure to get anyone inspired to get to werk. • Come along will you? Check that IG story!
It’s funny really, half of the job kind of feels like celebrating. I’m frequently in the company of milestones. Marriage proposals, biz launches, heck..I’ve even captured ten literal birth days 🎈 Sometimes friends ask, “Is it all just normal to you at this point?” • My response, I don’t know normal. Every day I’m challenged and excited by a new story. I just count myself lucky to get to celebrate with so many kinds of humans. Each unique, each worth celebrating again and again.
This week I will be (insert positive adjectives here) 👉🏼 Kick ass. Considerate. Mindful of time. Intentional. • Life has been moving a million miles an hour to me lately. I’m a hardcore type 7 on the enneagram (where my self aware nerds at 😎) and I am constantly in the state of mind “There’s SO much to do! SO much to see! I must cram it all IN!” • This week is going to be another beautiful week with fun shoots on the books, but I’ve got a better handle of how I’ll be spending my time in between. This week my focus is less is more. Would love to hear your weekly mantra ✨
Five years ago, summer before sophomore year; I decided to start a photography business. I drove around my college town that fall putting business cards (the folded kind) in random mailboxes. I’ll also admit to advertising on CraigsList. (I don’t recommend these marketing techniques). My friends were doing more collegey things in their spare time... 🤔 Four years ago I listened to the voice in my heart. I changed my college and major to get out faster and chase my dream harder. That year I photographed ten weddings, attempted to 📷 all things from newborns to real estate, and attended a workshop way out of my league with seasoned photographers on my 20th bday. 💖 Three years ago I moved into into my first apt alone in Columbia SC and convinced myself that this whole “FULL TIME photographer thing” would work out because there was no other option. That marked the craziest year still, twentysixflippin weddings. I could not stop lol. 😬 Two years ago I decided to move to a bigger city with more people and more competition and higher rent. Hello Charlotte NC, nice to see ya. That year I had no choice but to learn more about myself and what makes me, me. I faced being a small fish in what felt like a huge ocean. Swim little fish, swim! 🐠 Last year I met some of the smartest brightest people I would have never crossed paths with if I wouldn’t have gotten out of my car and walked into a networking event knowing no one - terrified. These people inspired and helped me make a big shift in my business. 🎉 Present year : Celebrating five years in business honestly just means you haven’t slept a ton in the last five years. It also means you keep choosing to get up every day, repeat the tough shit, and soak in every minute of the part that lights your entire soul up. My hope? To inspire entrepreneurs to share their own story - the part that lights them up . 💡 Moral of the story - KEEP GOING! Today I’m going to work on my 5 year anni because that’s real life. But I am going to do it with an extra big..one of these 😁today. Thank you for being a part of my journey, I hope I can be a part of yours.
