Take me back to Durango! Seriously, this wedding has me like 😍 all day every day lately. If you’re getting married in Durango, we’ve gotta talk! 😉
Just a gorgeous group of girls hanging in the mountains and showing off their ah-mazing bicep bands and their gorgeous bouquets 👌🏻⠀ ⠀ Paula and her group of girl friends were so fun!
Heyyy!! This is me tryna look skinny for this photo (aka trying super hard not to have a double chin! 😉)⠀ ⠀ I’m popping on your feed to say “hiiii!” and introduce myself, so if you’re thinking of booking me for wedding photography but you’re feeling a little unsure or feeling like you don’t know who is behind the photos, I can hopefully put those fears to rest!⠀ ✨⠀ Let’s be honest, hiring a stranger to basically follow you around for 7-8 hours on the BIGGEST day of your life to photograph you from the time you’re getting dressed to the end of the night when you’re a little more than buzzed and dancing the night away with your closest friends? That’s a little weird if you think about! It can either go great or it can be the most awkward annoying experience of your life.⠀ ✨⠀ And it all depends on who you choose, so choose the right photographer! The right photographer will make you feel like you’ve been friends for years, and will be there to lend a hand every step of the way, and will even join in on the dancing and the fun so you feel like they are actually a part of your wedding, not an awkward stranger who is just a bystander.⠀ ✨⠀ The right photographer will be calm in the chaos, will help your day stay on track (and on time!) and will encourage you the entire time. They will make bridal party and family photos FUN, and they will give you direction and things to do in front of the camera for bride and groom portraits so you don’t feel that strange pressure to “look good” in front of the camera. They will make everything easy so you don’t have to worry about it.⠀ ✨⠀ Besides a planner, your photographer is the only wedding vendor you hire who will literally be WITH you all day long. You don’t need to hang out with your florist all day long, and you won’t have your catering manager there while your mom zips up your dress or your groom sees you for the first time.⠀ ✨⠀ So? Choose the right photographer. Someone who makes you feel comfortable and at ease, someone who is there for you at every turn, who has your back, and who loves their job enough that they will be joyful and smiling every minute of your big day so you can do the same. 👌🏻⠀
Desert lovers + a bouquet of grass. All the good New Mexico vibes right here. 🤗
Window light on the bride as she’s getting ready, plus a little black and white? Always makes my heart swoon. I always give clients some black and white images in their gallery: they are just so timeless and classic. 😍
Walking in the sand during sunset. Perfection. . . 🌾Tap for vendor info! 🌾
One of the best moments on a wedding day is his face when he sees you walking down the aisle for the first time. Seriously, though! This moment happens so fast sometimes *I* don’t even see it the day-of. ⠀ 🌾⠀ I’m photographing the bridesmaids walking down the aisle, then I turn around and quickly fire off a few photos of his face while you’re walking out the door. Then I turn back around to get photos of you walking down the aisle. Usually I think, “I hope he had a good reaction!” Cause I didn’t even have time to process the moment as it’s happening.⠀ 🌾⠀ A few weeks later I’m editing your photos and find this. This moment that was so fast and fleeting I didn’t even see it when I took this photo, but it was real and it happened. Look at Dan’s face in this photo! He was tearing up and everything. ⠀ 🌾⠀ You probably didn’t see this, you were worried about walking and not tripping on your dress and all the happy guest’s faces as you passed. By the tine you reached the front of the aisle and your groom, he had regained his composure and was smiling happily at you.⠀ 🌾⠀ This is why wedding photography is so important, friends! This right here. This real and raw moment that happened, but nearly everyone missed in the hustle of the ceremony. This is the photo you will look back at in 50 years and beam at, seeing all the love in his eyes the day he married you.
This archway in downtown Santa Fe is such a gem (mad props to Lili, the bride, for showing me this spot)! Can’t wait for this sweet couple’s wedding in October 2019! 💛
Paula included photos of her parents and her aunt who have passed away on her bouquet so she could keep them close to her all day long. 💛
This patch of light coming through the trees in the mountains of Durango was like a little slice of heaven. 😍
