#ATIINSPIRE During the Core Group Consultation on the Adoption of New Extensionist Concept in Non-Formal Education in the Philippines, assistant professor Filma Calalo stressed the new role of extension workers today. She pointed out the need for the New Extensionist, a concept being promoted internationally by the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services. This is to address the emerging challenges in Extension and Services for Agriculture and Fisheries. The core consultation activity was spearheaded by the Agricultural Training Institute on November 26-27, 2018. #ishareknowledge

#TECHNOTIPS Insects, birds, fish and all sorts of other critters experience problems when humans swoop in and destroy their natural habitat. Organic farming not only helps preserve more natural habitat areas but also encourages birds and other natural predators to live freely on farmland, which assists in natural pest control. Additionally, animals who live on organic farms are exposed to clean, chemical-free grazing that helps keep them naturally healthy and resistant to illness. As a perk for organic farmers, happy and healthy organic animals are productive organic animals. Let us support the National Organic Month this November by practicing organic farming.
