Mom picked these #stargooseberry from granny’s house backyard, she said to me that these pretty little star-shaped (more like a flower-shaped to me) berries are used to make Vadukapuli Achar (wild lime/lemon pickles), it’s very sour but good for health and very good in cleanses the stomach.
Hello 👋 Happy Thaipusam! At first, we planned for pre-CNY shopping today, too bad my partner has to work 😬 but I did enjoy shopping at the wet market this morning 😉 I probably spent a total of 2 hours hovering around! | For my solo lunch : Pan fried zucchini fritters #hobakjeon & cubed radish kimchi I made myself #kkakdugi | have a blessed holiday everyone!
Just back from work, 😑 bad traffic in the rainy evening as usual. Need to fill up my stomach with a mouthful of something sweet that satisfy the sugary craving right now, seeking all over the kitchen, Tadaa~ here are some little 'energy boost' that will certainly make me feel good right away! Well, you know~ hungry stomach can’t do much “hard core” housework 🤣 floor sweeping, preparing dinner, pile of laundry waiting for me to fold, ngarh!!! Happy midweek.
👋 Happy Holidays! Mom is coming to visit me once again, yays! She’s on her way now, just called and told me what type of ingredient she had in her luggage 🤣 and estimated time of arrival at about 1-2 pm; I made her some of my all time favorite + comfort food - egg, chive & shrimp steamed dumplings for lunch! I hope she likes it! 🥚 🌱🍤 🥚🌱🍤
Hello December, my favorite month of the year!🎄made a loaf of butter pound cake for weekend, really love how it turned out~ wonderfully rich and buttery cake with lovely golden brown honey chestnuts in the center, what more can you ask for 😍 Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend! Weehaa!
Meet Eva - my new pretty & flutter friend in the garden! She’s gonna tell me something important, and I think that’s: “TGIF! “ 💚 where’s the #dragonfly emoji?
👋hello weekend, I made kinako dango ｛sweet dumplings dusted with roasted soy bean flour} for our teatime! A really simple little treat to make, chewy mochi-liked texture & sweetened kinako flour matches so well together! Happy rainy evening, we are staying cozy #hygge at home~ how about you? 💚
Baked some more scones for the weekend with leftover ingredients, and of course I got to have some while they are piping hot, simply split & spread with fresh cream cheese, topped with homemade jam. p/s: the passion fruit seeds in the jam add a unique crunchy texture on every bite of the buttery scones, oh~ heavenly! Definitely worth the wait on a cold rainy evening. Happy Friday friends, and smile 😊 cuz weekend is here!
Hello Friday! I’ve been baking a lot of scones lately 😋 it’s not difficult, need no special skills but a little patience on rubbing the butter & flour into fine breadcrumb consistency. My life motto : no matter what you cook or bake, it’s all in the way you handle the humble ingredients! The food will definitely turn out to be good when you cook them with ❤️
