I honestly looove Valentine's Day in maternelle. It's exhausting, but every single year it ends up being one of my highlights. I find they are just the perfect age for it and they find so much joy and delight in making, giving, and opening all their cards. Everyone is just so full of love and gratitude! 💕 . We had so much fun today talking about who we love and how to show it, making cards, and reading stories. For math, we built 2D and 3D shapes out of toothpicks and Valentine's Day gummies. So much fun, and they did such a great job!! 😊💖 #lasaintvalentin #happyvalentinesday

Bébé Leah (as she is most commonly known haha) is somehow 6 months old today! She is the sweetest girl (although a little shy around new people) and a great sleeper...i think she caught on quickly that everything runs more smoothly when mom gets to rest haha 🤔 She can roll all over and sit up by herself, but hasn't ever thought about crawling that we can tell lol. She is obsessed with books and loves to be read and sung to - Baby Beluga is a guaranteed grin! She super super loves food even though she hasnt gotten to try very much yet. Also she is a giant haha...did not get that from her dad 🤣 Her and Sully are best friends and he can't wait until she learns to throw all of the toys he brings her! 🐶
Don't forget about this colour-by-sight-word freebie in my store! It's Valentine's Day themed, so perfect for this week! 😊💖 You can find it by clicking the link in my bio and scrolling to the bottom of the page 😄 #frenchfreebies #valentinesday
Fingerpainted Valentine's Day trees! 💖💖💖 I love how they all look different. And every single kid stuck their fingers in the paint! #itsamiracle #neverhappens
Germs are megggaaaa going around in my class, and after 3 students went home early and 2 more were out sick, I decided to save painting for tomorrow and do these little Valentine's bees this afternoon instead 😊 I love giving cut & paste crafts without templates - they all turn out unique and I can really see my students' creativity! . To make the bees, I cut out some rectangles, squares, and strips of paper - you can see colours in pic #2 (we were out of black so we used sharpie to make the stripes today). I modelled how to cut the corners off the big rectangle to make an oval, to cut a heart out of the white for wings, and how to add arms and legs and a pink Valentine's Day heart (pic #1). Most of them added stingers, too 😉 #naturally . Super easy prep and I 😍😍😍 how they all turned out! (Also, they amazed me with their accordion folding skills 👌👌) Give it a try if you need a 30 min craft activity about shapes!
