I’m going to admit that these are the only bits of work I’m happy with this whole week. And that is pretty sad 😂 But since I’m not a machine I wasn’t able to produce what I envisioned or planned. The two bigger paintings are still on the wall, stuck in some state of painting purgatory, waiting for me to decide whether I trash them, cut them up and collage them, or miraculously find a way to rescue them. I’m at a loss. Trying to make a mental list of what I’ve learned from the mistakes...? I lived in Morocco in 2011, and we visited again together in 2018. Here we are, working on our selfie-game. Not really ever on-point. LOL. Much of my inspiration for creating comes from travels. But this year has been a strange year of learning to stay still. Between the two surgeries, losing my first baby, my friend's suicide, and Corona... I will be thankful if this next year from March onward isn't a repeat! North Africa and the Middle East are some of the most colourful, chaotic and inspiring places I've visited.
