Thanks to @runmeb and Dathan Ritzenhein for stopping by @bostonrunbase to talk about race prep for Sunday's #baa10k
Thanks to @bostonrunbase for letting our awesome volunteer staff host B.A.A. 10K bib pick-up in your backyard. We'll see you later tonight for our final clinic for the race, featuring @runmeb and Dathan Ritzenhein!
@runmeb is returning to the streets of Boston this weekend! Meb began his Boston running career back at the 2006 Boston Marathon, when he finished third in 2:09:56. Four years later, he’d go on to place fifth at the 2010 Boston Marathon, then triumphantly returned in 2014 to win in the most meaningful way possible, uplifting a city and running community one year after the incidents at the finish line. This year, Meb placed 13th in 2:17:00 in his final race from Hopkinton to Boston. Meb will be back running in Boston this weekend, racing the 2017 B.A.A. 10K, presented by @brighamandwomens Hospital, on Sunday! He’ll also be part of our pre-race clinic at @bostonrunbase alongside Dathan Ritzenhein on tomorrow night!
Welcome to National Selfie Day! Show us your best selfie shot from the Boston Marathon. #smile #nationalselfieday
💛Looking sharp, #Boston 💙
@buzuneshdeba has completed four Boston Marathons over the course of her career, finishing seventh twice (2016 and 2017), third in 2015, and was the champion in 2014. As a member of the John Hancock Elite Athlete Team, Deba moved from tenth place at the halfway point in Wellesley to seventh at the finish of this year’s race, thanks to finely-timed surges in Newton and Brookline. Back in 2014, Deba set the current Boston Marathon course record of 2:19:59. She returns to the streets of Boston this week to race the seventh annual B.A.A. 10K, presented by @brighamandwomens Hospital! #beboston
We’re just gonna leave this here :)
Happy Birthday to both Dire Tune (ETH) and Elijah Lagat (KEN). Tune pulled away in the final miles to win the 2008 Boston Marathon, becoming the youngest female winner since Joan Samuelson in 1979. Lagat won a photo-finish against Gezahegne Abera (ETH), both recording a time of 2:09:47 at the 2000 Boston Marathon. That race remains the closest men’s open race in Boston Marathon history! Happy Birthday to both Dire and Elijah!
Happy Father's Day to all the awesome dads out there who go that extra mile!
