Happy Friday! It's sunny and is gonna stay this way all weekend. It's safe to say it's put me in a very good mood! Pluuuus today is also the start of the @sephora spring bonus sale. Has anyone already placed their orders? What did you get? I'm still battling over my cart... ____ Here's last night's routine! I didn't use any wash-off masks for #aprilmaskaday but I think a sleeping mask can count, right? ☀️ @nazanschnappskincare oil cleanser (@thedetoxmarket*) ☀️ @youthtothepeople age prevention cleanser (@dermstore) ☀️ @saturday_skin essence mist* ☀️ @amorepacific_us vintage single extract essence* ☀️ @whamisaskincare deep rich essence toner ☀️ @herbivorebotanicals pink cloud moisturizer* ☀️ @olivarrier_usa squalane oil (@peachandlily*) 🌿 @enatureofficialusa birch juice hydro sleeping pack*: I've used this about 4 times now so I'm ready to share my first impressions! 🌿 This mask, as well as the rest of the birch juice line, feature birch juice as the number 1 ingredient! @theklog did an extensive post about birch juice last year-- it's a natural source of niacinamide, B3, and various minerals and antioxidants. It helps maintain your skin's barrier function and promotes a healthy oil-moisture balance 👌 🌿 This mask's texture reminds me a lot of Laneige's water sleeping mask. It's a lightweight watery gel consistency. 🌿 Even though it's very lightweight, it does a good job at keeping my skin hydrated through the night! I don't wake up with any dry flakes which is always a blessing. 🌿 I'm ambivalent about its light fragrance-- it's definitely less noticeable than Laneige's. 🌿 PS the entire birch juice line is 20% off at @target through the 28th in honor of earth day! ☀️ @f.miller.skincare eye treatment oil* ☀️ @ellisbrooklyn verb candle: Low-key forgot I bought this 🙈 Should I do a review post on candles from Sephora? ____ * = PR gift
*pretends to be hand model* ____ On my nails: @opi you've got nata on me (#OPIgiftedme.) The color is in their gel effects line (aka their infinite shine line) and tbh, I'm not convinced. In addition to spending $12.50 on the polish, you have to spend another $25 on the base + top coats. The polish is glossy and wears for about a week. I can say the same thing for OPI's usual polishes which I can buy for around $10 and use with my base + top coat of preference. My recommendation is to save your dough and go for the classic line-- this mani isn't worth spending $30+ *shrug* . . . . ____ #octolyfamily #opipolish #opinails #youvegotnataonme #opimanicure #manicured #manicure💅 #nailsoftheweek #springnails http://liketk.it/2vrB9 #liketkit @liketoknow.it #LTKbeauty
I've been slacking on #aprilmaskaday & haven't masked the past 2 days 🙈 #alternahaircaregiftedme Anyways, here's yesterday's morning routine feat. first impressions of 2 new products! ____ 🌸 @alternahaircare caviar dry oil mist (PR gift): It's pretty in pink! 🌸 Usually, I like using hair oils when my hair is still damp. I'll put in leave-in conditioner and follow up with an oil to seal in my ends. It's very effective at preventing dry, split ends! Unfortunately, this formula did not work well with this method. I don't think my hair absorbed it because my ends got very dry while testing this out. At the same time, my ends were kinda greasy. It was basically like a film. 🌸 So instead I tried this product on my dry hair and thankfully got much better results! It helps smooth frizz and tame flyaways. The mist is nice and fine. Also because I wasn't applying as much product as with the previous application, it didn't make my hair greasy. I was even able to use it near my roots! 🍊 @drunkelephant c-tango eye cream: C-firma is my favorite DE product so when they came out with an eye cream version, I knew I had to try it. It's supposed to be the baby of C-firma & Protini. 🍊 C-firma relies on LAA whereas this eye cream contains 5 different vitamin C derivatives. It also has ceramides, peptides, antioxidants, and various plant extracts (including cucumber and green tea.) It aims to brighten and firm the skin around the eyes. 🍊 I haven't given it a proper sniff but when I use it, I can't smell anything. Texture wise it's light and almost watery. 🍊 I've been using it for less than a week so I can't say if it delivers on its brightening + tightening claims. Downside tho-- it isn't super hydrating. I notice the lines around my eyes are more prominent by midday. It's possible that's due to my current lifestyle choices so I'll continue testing it! _____ #octolyfamily #alternanation
Wanna try a free deluxe mini of @firstaidbeauty's ultra repair cream? Click the link in my bio to enter a sweepstakes to win one 😎 (50 people will be randomly picked— must be following @firstaidbeauty to enter!) ____ It's become one of my go-to hand creams over the past few months! I'm generally lazy with skincare that's not on my face, but I've made a habit of using hand cream more often this winter. I love that it sinks in fast and doesn't leave me with greasy hands. It's also fragrance-free 👌Ingredients wise it features shea butter, squalane, ceramides, colloidal oatmeal, and green tea extract! (PR gift) ____ PS not sponsored 🙃
I'm throwing caution to the wind and trying all the new things at once. Say a little prayer for my skin, please 🙈 ___ 🌸 @nazanschnappskincare cleansing oil (@thedetoxmarket*) 🌸 @indie_lee rosehip cleanser (@dermstore*) 🌸 @sundayriley good genes 🌸 @laneige_us vitamin c essence 🌸 @amorepacific_us vintage single extract essence* 🌿 @enatureofficialusa birch juice hydro cream sheet mask*: In honor of Earth day, e-nature is offering 20% off their birch juice line through the 28th at @target! They sent over everything from the line for me to test out so hopefully, I can get some first impressions up before the promo ends. 🌿 The serum for this mask features birch juice + a dozen other plant extracts and soothing ingredients. The mask material is soft and soaked with serum. Good fit 👍 🌿 I wore it comfortably for 40 minutes! It wasn't even starting to dry up around the edges yet. 🌿It promises to moisturize the skin without leaving a sticky finish and it did just that! I was low-key shocked that I didn't have any sticky residue after removing this mask because almost all masks leave a sticky residue. 🌿 One thing I wasn't crazy about was the scent. Thankfully it's not noticeable after a minute or two (btw it does contain 'natural fragrance' at the end of the ingredients list) 🌸 @saturday_skin essence mist* 🌸 @paiskincare rosehip oil: WORST sample ever. Not because of the product but because of the packaging. It was a struggle to get two drops out of this tube-- it was barely enough to cover my forehead. 🌸 @herbivorebotanicals pink cloud* 🌸 @olivarrier_usa squalane oil (@peachandlily*) 🌸 @f.miller.skincare eye treatment oil* 🌸 e-nature birch juice sleeping pack*: if you're curious about trying this out they have a mini set with 2 0.6 oz samples on sale for $8 at Target! Will share a first impressions after using it a few more times. It has a very light and *almost* liquidy consistency. 🌸 @overoseparis indasmin (now called ultraflora) candle ___ *= PR gift
Cons: I didn't take any photos this weekend & it’s supposed to be cloudy all week Pros: I have a legitimate excuse to share reposts/ outtakes ____ Last night's mask for #aprilmaskaday was @clarinsusa SOS comfort nourishing balm mask (PR gift) aka the cream cheese frosting mask. ☀️ I haven't had the best experiences with Clarins products but this is a hit! It's very nourishing thanks to squalane and mango seed oil. ☀️ Previously I would wash off this mask but I finally read the instructions and saw they suggested wiping it off with a lotion. So I used a cotton pad soaked with @kiehls ultra facial toner to gently wipe off this mask and it was AMAZE. My skin felt so soft and calm and moisturized. At the same time, there wasn't any residue or film left on my face. ☀️ I followed up the mask with a few quick spritzes of the @cosrx low pH PHA barrier mist (@cupidrop.official PR gift), 2 pumps of the @drunkelephant marula oil (PR gift), and a generous layer of @farmacybeauty's sleep tight balm. Woke up in the morning with happy skin!
Stopped by the @sundayriley #betheinfluencer pop up yesterday! It was super cute and now I’m maybe contemplating purchasing the foundations during the Sephora sale 🙃 Does anyone have any recs for medium coverage foundations with a wide shade range? ____ Ps I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking what apps I’ve been using to edit my photos & videos. They’re all listed in the photography FAQs on my profile 👍🏽
For the most part the masks I’ve been using for #aprilmaskaday have been hits. Last night’s... was not 😝 _____ 💖 @urangnatural cleansing oil (@ohlollybeauty PR) 💖 @indie_lee rosehip cleanser (@dermstore PR) 🌼 @olivarrier_usa gentle glow seed polishing mask: If you’ve been following me for a while, you may know that I love the oil from the brand! Their products are gentle and feature squalane 👌🏽 They’re also low pH and fragrance free. 🌼 First off, I have to say I love that this foil sample came with an expiration date. I wish more brands would follow suit! 🌼 In addition to squalane this mask also panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, olive oil, avocado oil, and madecassoside! It has a base of kaolin. It’s meant to be a hydrating and gently exfoliating clay mask. 🌼 Onto the mask itself— things started off good. As far as physical exfoliators go, this mask is very, very gentle. It uses cranberry seeds to exfoliate and it’s not abrasive at all. 🌼 Things start going downhill as the mask starts drying. In less than 10 minutes the mask is dry and my face feels super tight. 🌼 It was a pain to remove. And even when I did manage to wash it off, it left a chalky layer on my skin. So it’s safe to say I won’t be purchasing the full size 🙅🏽♀️ 💖 @laneige_kr vitamin c effector on a cotton pad to remove the mask residue 💖 @whamisaskincare deep rich toner 💖 @her @herbivorebotanicals pink cloud moisturizer (PR) 💖 olivarrier squalane oil (@peachandlily PR) 💖 @saturday_skin eye cream 💖 laneige lip sleeping mask (@altheakorea PR) 💖 @diptyque tuberose candle
I think I’ve started every routine post this week by saying “ a simple night/ day routine” 😅 But this one is super simple! ✨ @oskiaskincare renaissance cleansing gel ✨ @emilecordon lip cashmere (PR gift) ✨ @farmacybeauty invincible serum 🌱 @mybeautydiaryus aloe sheet mask: If you’re looking for affordable but amazing sheet masks— mbd is one of my top picks. You can buy a set of 10 masks for $12.99 online at @target! And the quality is far superior to most of the other sheet masks you’ll find at target, ulta, and even Sephora. This mask I got in a variety box that I bought from @beautiusofficial over a year ago (the masks expire in 2019 thankfully.) 🌱 The reason I love mbd masks is because the material is thin, the fit is amazing, and the packet holds a LOT of extra essence. They also come in a variety of types! This aloe version was very calming and soothing 👌🏽 ✨ @huxley_us light oil & more ✨ @leegeehaam_global grow cica cream (PR gift) ✨ @supergoop x @milly defense refresh setting spray SPF 50 (PR gift): I’ve tried this out in stores before and I wasn’t a fan. But when I gave it a go yesterday my experience was totally different! My issue when using it in stores was that the spray wasn’t fine and it left a greasy feeling on my skin. But I didn’t have those issues this time 🤷🏽♀️ It pretty much felt like nothing on my skin. Moving forward I’ll have to try it as a refresher throughout the day/ on top of makeup because that’s its main purpose!
