Time to pop that champagne, friend. It's Friday! 🍾Tag 3 friends you'd love to clink glasses with tonight!🥂I'll start @phoebeeemaree @rebecca.const @flicks_pics 😘🍾
Today we returned home from our tree-change and as I pulled into the driveway I was greeted by these beautiful daffodils in full bloom in our garden 🌼🌼🌼Isn't it funny how a little time out from your everyday zone can bring perspective and help you appreciate what you have? I'm looking forward to sleeping in our king bed (after roughing it in a double 😜), having access to my pantry and seeing my step-son after leaving him for 2 weeks to look after our home. What do you love most about your home?
I love working for myself but the reality is that if I don't do the things, the things don't get done. The unglamourous reality of entrepreneurship is that you have to be a bookkeeper, blogger, IT fixer, website updater, image editor, album designer, administrator, customer care officer, social media guru, personal cheerleader and coffee go-getter ⛑🎩👒👑Phew! I'm tired just seeing all those hats but I'd always work for 70 hours a week for myself rather than 38 hours a week in a windowless cubicle. Flat white with almond milk please! Tell me below how you take your coffee? ☕️
Its that time of year when I begin to crave Vitamin D on my skin and some Vitamin Sea for the soul ☀️ Hands up if you'd like to escape with me here 🙋
This is certainly cozy couch weather, am I right? 🌨 I love nothing more than a good movie on a rainy day and I have 7 of my favourite rainy day movies on the blog today (link in profile). There are a couple of musicals, a 90's coming-of-age cult classic and above all, lots of great soundtracks and imagery. What's your favourite rainy day movie? ☔️ #angelahiggins
If you've been following me on Instagram Stories you might know that we're having a little tree-change as we house sit in Perth Hills for a couple of weeks. Each morning we are woken by a symphony of bird calls and are surrounded by wattle in bloom on every street 🌾🐧 At night as Grant tends the fire to keep our toes warm during this cold spell, I'm reclining back with a good book and a smile on my face 🔥📚 Sometimes a change is as good as a holiday! Tell me your favourite place to escape to in the comments!
Engagement sessions are my favourite and dogs at engagement sessions are even better! 💙Engagement sessions help me get to know my couple better so on their wedding day we're old friends but also it gives them the gift of photography and remembers them exactly as they are in their every day life. Today on the blog I'm sharing when the best time is for your engagement session and it is foolproof - no matter when you're getting married. Double tap if you'd bring your fur child to your engagement session 🐶 #angelahiggins
I can remember this moment as if it were yesterday 💭 Lucy and her husband had just been announced as husband and wife and this photograph was taken in the midst of their guests showering them with hugs and kisses. The truth is that when I photograph a wedding there is a good chance I will A) cry as the bride walks down the aisle (thank God for auto focus!), B) be constantly smiling as I look at you smiling - we're all smiling! and C) find you at the end of the night for an enormous hug before I head home and collapse in bed. If you're also a crier at weddings, leave me a ❤️ below! #angelahiggins
I'm not much of a gear nerd but I know what works for me and today I am sharing why I prefer prime lenses on the blog. Making the decision to use primes exclusively for portraits helped me to get those signature, creamy skin images that my couples love so why mess with a good thing like that? 🤷🏼♀️I can't go past my 50mm in any situation - what is your favourite lens? Let me know in the comments! 🙆🏼📷
Our Friday nights are so predictably boring and I secretly love it! The weekdays are usually so busy that it feels like we haven't connected as a family for days - but then Friday night rolls around and we get in the kitchen and make pizza, have a glass of wine, watch a movie or the footy and connect with each other 🍕🍷 I love the simplicity of it and that our family know what's happening if they come over. Tell me your favourite family tradition in the comments! 😉
