Well the weirdest long weekend has come to an end and I’m ready to get back to it. #HurricaneFLO thankfully went easy on us and gave us an excuse to be cozy homebodies for 5 days. Now it’s time to scheme, shop, and design 👩💻🏡📝 I know the rest of my state (and others) didn’t come out so lucky! Anyone still without power or dealing with a lot of damage??
Thinking of all of my coastal friends today! Wrightsville and Charleston are my two favorite cities...let’s pray the damage isn’t too bad 🙏🏼 And that those of us in Charlotte will not be stuck without power and needing a canoe for transportation 🚣🏼♂️📷 @laurasumrak #hurricaneflorence
It’s day ✌🏻 of my official reentry to Instagram and so far I am feeling the love, thanks to y’all! The clear front runner to my poll yesterday was🥁🥁🥁...BABY! @taylor_barden would like to thank each of you for putting that back on my radar 😂 But, before I make any big life decisions let’s catch up on things on the design front. There are some fun projects brewing as well as a few behind-the-scenes changes. We are currently working on a kitchen reno, full house reno, several living rooms, and some other smaller projects. And I have some fun personal projects I will share more about soon (no, not in 9 months! 🤰🏼😂). This is another snippet of my kitchen and I promise to have a blog post up about that soon! This summer we focused on the nitty gritty of our business processes (😴) so that we can jump in with an even better approach to your projects. Our goal is always to keep the process streamlined, easy, and fun! And by “our” I mean the other half of this venture @catherwhittaker Catherine came into my life at just the right time and has been the perfect fit with DPI...an addition I didn’t even realize how badly I needed until she was here. We have big plans to grow things this year and would love to handle that design project you are contemplating! Head over to stories to see a look back at some of our favorite projects! Now back to Hurricane Florence prep 😰. Stay safe my coastal friends! 📷 @laurasumrak
It’s finally time for me to shake the dust off this account and officially get back to Instagram! I decided a couple years ago that I would take a break from IG during the summers and just chill out...QT with my kids and a detox of sorts. I love having the mental break but diving back in all fresh in the fall feels awesome too! Since it’s been a hot minute I thought I’d start with a little introduction for the new faces or the old ones who can’t remember exactly why they hit follow on this account 🤣. So let’s see...what are the key points you need to know about me... I started designPOST interiors roughly 10 years ago after my first son was born. I needed a creative outlet and so the blog was born. I spent a good amount of years blogging, making fun connections, and trying out all kinds of looks in my house. Slowly clients started coming and I transitioned into more designing, less blogging. Luckily around that time IG started really taking off and has served as a mini blog for me. My business has ebbed and flowed through two more kids and lots and lots of life. Learning to juggle both has kicked my butt at times but for the most part I try to keep it all in perspective. This year all three kiddos are in real school and I’m debating whether to pull a Joanna Gaines and have one more baby or to just get a puppy. OR to move and start all over on a different house 🤔. All three are on the table all day, everyday and meanwhile @taylorbarden just sits rocking in a corner in a cold sweat 😂 I am so excited to jump back in to these little curated squares and show y’all what’s been happening and what’s on the horizon. Let’s play a fun game...why did you start following me? Did you come from the old school blog days? See a project you liked? Or hear about us from a friend?? I’d love to know who you guys are too 😘 📷: @laurasumrak
