Part 2. Because evidently IG has a word limit...who knew?! Zach Lauer back at it AGAIN folks, with an internship at The Big 550 KTRS also in Saint Louis. At 550, Zach will be working with audio for sports talk shows, including events like Cardinals games, NHL Playoffs, NBA Playoffs and more! Zach can only describe this experience as heaven. Good luck on Cloud 9, Zach! Reporter Rebecca Gangemella is holding down the fort in Cape Girardeau for us this summer, writing for the Arrow and working her heart out for both Southeast Admissions and Family Video. Here she is pictured at a Deployment Party at Whiteman Air Force Base with Ken Morrow, a member of the 1980 U.S. Winter Olympics Hockey team, otherwise known as the Miracle on Ice. Why yes, that IS the gold medal he won around Rebecca's neck! Get it, girl. As always, stay tuned for more Southeast updates on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat! #SEMOSummer #WhatsUpSemo #WhereAreTheyNow
Happy summer, Redhawks! How are you spending your days in the sun? Our staff members are living it up all over the country. Check it out: Editor Kara Hartnett (or should we call her Cutthroat Kara?) is dressed as a pirate for her summer job at Jolly Rogers, a pirate themed restaurant at Lake of the Ozarks. Kara and her team take people out on pirate hunt excursions and perform an interactive treasure hunt show. Throughout the show, Cutthroat Kara is the mutinous pirate that tries to take over the ship until she is made to walk the plank right into the water and swim to shore. I'd say she's hooked on summer! Digital Managing Editor Rachael Long is spending her summer in Denver, Colorado where she is an editorial intern at the Denver Business Journal. She'll be working with the editors of DBJ to write original content and copyedit other work. In her free time, Rachael will be exploring the city, hiking lots of mountains, and enjoying the fresh, fresh air of the Mile High City. Video Editor Matt Mormann will be in Atlanta, Georgia as a sports production intern at Turner Sports! Matt will be helping with sports broadcasts on TNT and TBS, such as the PGA Championship, NBA Draft, and ELeague. Matt will also help out with digital content for Turner's websites, like the Bleacher Report, NBA.com, and PGA.com. Way to go, Matty Mo! Sports Editor Zach Lauer is living it up in the Gateway City of Saint Louis, Missouri where he is working at Hubbard Radio representing three different stations, New Country 92.3, 106.5 The Arch, and 101.1 ESPN. Zach will be promoting those stations by hyping people up with giveaways and his natural charisma to get a party started. News Editor Katelyn Mary Skaggs is killing it (as always) at The Current News Eureka, Missouri. Katelyn Mary has a special tie to The Current News, as it was the first paper she ever read while growing up in Eureka! She has spent her summer so far by taking photos, editing and managing the social media accounts, and writing away! Pumping out nearly 10 stories a week and editing twice that many, Katelyn Mary is a regular Marguerite Higgins (a pioneer for women in journalism)! Nice work, KM! Part 1.
