I’ve traveled since I was young. My parents took me all over the country on family vacations and my Dad’s business trips. I left the country for the first time when I was 14 and fell in love with other cultures, foods, and people. The first time I returned back to the states I cried and cried and cried because I didn’t want to be home. Every trip from there on out has been the same reoccurring dramatic shower cry. Until I moved to Arizona. • I’ve never loved coming home SO much as I do living in Flagstaff. It might be the sun that shines every single day or the home I’ve built for myself here but I don’t have those tearful shower cries about leaving the place I just came from. I truly love being home. #home #arizonasun #flagstaffliving

Recently, I returned to a small little town in Italy I lived for a few months 4 years ago. In that town I was faced with silence in ways I had never experienced thus far in life. It was uncomfortable. I honestly hated it for the first few months. But when time slowly became my friend not something I was always chasing after, when silence was where I found comfort, and being disconnected on social media I found deep fulfilling connection to the humans around me, I started to become annoyed of all the noise. After walking through the streets of Orvieto again last week, I wanted to write up things I’ve learned on how to reduce the noise out of our life to be able to better connect with the humans and space around us. ✨ •Turn off ALL notifications for social media/emails/apps on your phone ✨ •Unsubscribe from annoying emails that distract your time while on the internet. Say goodbye Target discount sale items ,Wayfair’s new carpets in stock, and Hertz, Frontier Airlines, Walgreens pointless marketing emails. ✨ •Read a book instead of watching a show before you fall asleep: I PROMISE you if you try this for a week you will feel more refreshed when you wake up. It gives your brain space from the constant bright blue LED light box we look at all day everyday and let’s your mind wander a little bit in imagery world which ends up leading to creativity. ✨ •Delete one social media platform you use only once a week. The less stuff we have the less we have to worry about. The constant need to be connected to the outside world causes extra noise in areas that we may need to rest from. ✨ •Go on a walk without your phone . Sadly this can be hard for many of us. I always want my phone to play music, a podcast, or talk to a friend while I walk, killing two birds with one stone mentality, but if we are constantly engaged in the noise and never allow our brains to rest I fear we may loose out on much needed contemplation and processing our fore fathers were able to have. ✨ •Drive in silence. Don’t turn on music or NPR (my go to). Let yourself sit in silence and see where your brain wanders on your 10 minute drive.
You’ll find me on the beach in Barcelona with a mojito in one hand and a tapas in the other💃🏼 #newfavoritecity #beachpic #bareclona
Final four days in Europe will be spent in 60 degree weather by the sea in Spain. This trip has been so freaking fun despite the literal no sleep we’ve gotten, the cold cold rain we’ve been caught in, and travel mishaps we’ve found ourselves in. I’ve learned to not have expectations when I travel...to keep the door open to anything because the good will be good and the bad will come. But i’ve learned to laugh during the hard situations, to take 15 seconds of positivity, and eventually the crap figures itself out. Slowly and surely the sun comes. #italianstreets #travelthoughts #italy
Four years ago I met this beautiful couple while attending art school in Orvieto. Hannah is a poet, Fedorico is a leather maker. They are kind and funny and wish I could see them more. ANY day their baby boy will be entering the world and we were able to photograph the beautiful changes to Hannah’s body as she grows a sweet little one. #prego #orvieto #italy
Be with your love today....cause I can’t be! Half way across the world from him 😢 #valentinesday #paris #stinkincute
Sometimes you just cannot avoid the rain and instead we play in it. I loved meeting up with new Flagstaff friends in Paris!! #kissesintherain #paris #hannahrosephoto
