I drove for the first time this week and went straight to @caferoze for a pretty little latte. Head over to @brunchinheels to see my effort at making my crutches fashionable. Thank you @weatherlyphotography for the mini shoot and for the chance to just hang out! . . . . #styleinspiration #makeyousmilestyle #blogger #style #fashion #ootd #nashvilleblogger #wiw #fashioninfluencer #nashvillestyle #styleblogger #browngirlbloggers #stylewatch

It's been two weeks since my surgery. I think everyone wants to be (or at least be perceived as) strong in trying situations, but sometimes being honest is what strength looks like. I nap a lot and simple tasks like sitting up at the table for 20 minutes for a meal feels like running a marathon. Aside from going to the doctor's office, I have only been out once (to watch an indoor soccer game) and I spent the rest of the day asleep. I'm hoping to venture out again soon. I am still in a decent amount of physical pain. I had my post-surgical splint removed yesterday and tomorrow I'll start physical therapy. The goal is to flex my foot up and down and eventually side to side. I'm still non-weight bearing for another 4 weeks, which means I am still on crutches around the house. I honestly never knew how limiting crutches were. Those limitations on my independence are challenging. But, I have a scooter and am hoping to take it for a spin soon. Thankfully I am surrounded by love and support, and plenty of patience. Tyrus has been absolutely incredible and Greyson has been the best helper. My mom drove to Nashville, as soon as she heard about my fall, and was able to stay with us for the first week. So many friend have blessed us with meals, and Uber Eats gift cards, and I am encouraged daily via text/messenger by those who are still kind enough to think about me and pray for me. I can think of about 100 ways this situation could be worse and so I am thankful that it is what it is and that it too shall pass.
