Outside the Box: Third graders dyed fabric for a project inspired by contemporary artist Sam Gilliam - the first African American artist to drape paintings, giving them a 3-dimensional appeal. Their final masterpieces, and other artwork inspired by black artists and traditions, will be displayed for all students to see. #CelebratingBlackHistory
Outside the Box: Kudos to fifth graders who represented New Hope in a major way last week. Students performed multiple musical selections with the 300-member West Tennessee Festival Chorus. What an honor it was to be a part of this event.
Outside the Box: Quarterbacks and queens were seen throughout our kindergarten hallway in honor of the annual Q & U wedding. Students enjoyed learning about spelling rules and the relationship between the two letters. We’re always thinking of ways to make learning fun at New Hope!
Hands On: Shout out to New Hope students who submitted five checklists and recorded 33 wild species in the global citizen-science program known as the Great Backyard Bird Count. With a steadily declining bird population, the program helps identify which species are declining and why. Students were happy to make such a big contribution to a great cause. #outdoorclassroom
