He asked the help of the Pope, Clément V, who was reluctant at first. The king decided to blame them for sinful sexual practice and heresy. On october 13th 1307 the order was given to arrest ALL templar knights in Europe ☧. They were then tortured, killed and burned 🔥 at the stake.The templar order was dissolved, their treasure given to the hospitaliers and a good chunk to the french king. The hospices de Beaune have the most the beautiful example of Burgundy roof tiling. @CultureAndAdv visited them for us and she found them breathtaking. This monument used to be an hospital for the poorest people built in the 14th century by Rolin and Guigone the hospice was built as a palace for the poor. They were fed, washed and healed here. They were even offered a bed for however time was considered necessary by the nuns and the doctor. It seems unbelievable nowadays but at the time it was a luxury to live the end of your life in such comfort listening to the mass from your bed!
