I love living in the middle of South Carolina. It’s a 2-hour drive to great beaches and a 2-hour drive to stunning mountains. But there’s also beauty right here where we are. #LakeMurray is home. I love every time I get to photograph it. • Laura + Josh love spending time on the lake, so we knew we had to do part of their session by the water. The other half of the session was spent roaming around the #SCStateHouse, and man was it just a beautiful day all around! • More from their engagement session is on the blog today!
I got pregnant December of 2017 and didn’t take any wedding bookings for the fall of 2018, in preparation for our little girl. In February, we found out we lost her, and then just a few short months later in April we found out we were pregnant again, and due in January. I remember thinking, “Awesome! I’m due during the slow season for weddings!” But then I remembered for the first time ever I had booked a wedding in January! Haha—go figure! I was so upset that I wouldn’t be able to make it to photograph David + Hannah’s wedding. (It would have been impossible with it being 4 days from my due date and in a different state from where I’m now living.) • But in the photography world, associate photographers are becoming a big thing! So, I broke the sad news to Hannah and offered her some choices: 1. I could refund her money since I couldn’t be there and she could find a new photographer. 2. I reached out myself to find a photographer for her who was a similar style to me, and found one who agreed to photograph her wedding for the same price she booked me for. 3. I could hire an associate photographer—someone I trusted whole-heartedly—to photograph the wedding, and I would still edit the photos so she would get my style, and the full wedding experience from me, just without my actual presence on her wedding day. • I was SO excited when she opted for the third option. I LOVED hanging out with David + Hannah at their engagement session, and it was so special to still be able to be part of their wedding day! • My favorite images from their gallery are on the blog today. 💙💙💙
Happy One Month to the baby that made these foot prints. 💙 (Swipe right for his cute face.) • We love him more than we ever could have imagined. • He is a tummy time champ—along with lifting his head up and turning it side to side, he can also roll over onto his side. He has been sleeping through the night since he was 2.5 weeks old, and he’s a happy baby in the morning time. • I just love giving him baths and getting the sweetest snuggles afterwards, and Tyler loves reading to him. • We are in love with his cute smile, and can’t WAIT to hear his first giggle. He is starting to coo and make noises already. We also love it when he throws his arms up and head back to stretch really big after a long nap. (It’s so cute!) • He is just so cool, and we can’t believe he’s so big already! 💙 • Babies really don’t keep. I want him to stay little forever! • ✉️ by @irisandmariepress
