Hello lovelies! I do apologise for not being around much lately, lots to organise and sort, which is resulted in a serious lack of time for hooking and blogging. The move happens within the next days! I’m so looking forward to it and for this “in between” stage to be done. With moving back home I’ve had to have a major sort out, getting rid of a lot of things. It’s been hugely satisfying simplifying my life and cutting down on unnecessary clutter. I’ve gotten rid of a lot of my crochet work (means I have the space to make more, once I’m settled) I’ve donated things to charity, schools.some friends have received blankets and I’ve boxed up my favorites. The whole process made me want to share a few of my makes, as some I will never see again. so I took a few pics before I boxed them up or rehoused them. This is my beloved Tunisian blanket, I made this using a cotton linen blend by wölle rödel back in 2015. It’s Tunisian simple stitch changing colour on each pass. It has a real boho feel and is now rehoused at the local senior home. I hope some hippy granny got it to keep warm as autumn approaches!
Loving my craft room!!! Had to take a little selfie yesterday just before I started to dissemble and sort everything. It may be a little moment before I have a space like this again, so will need to figure out exactly what I NEED and what can go into storage. The move is getting close though, I can’t wait to be back on my home turf..... been along time coming! #excitingtimes
Perfect spot to park my tush..... on my little stool in the craft room, with it’s newly crocheted cover. I just love how retro it looks. This really simple crocheted circle pattern does just the trick to make over this stool and also gives the room a massive injection of colour!
A little colour play as I plan a new design. Oh these gorgeous @scheepjes yarns, I’m messing around with Cahlista, Catona and some delicious Sweet Treats here! Oh the choices, oh the colors love😍
Hello lovelies! I do apologise for not being around so much.... I’ve been back and forth to England prepping my move back home in a few weeks. I’m so very excited to be starting over and starting over is exactly what’s happening. I’m seriously downsizing and reducing my belonging to just a car load! It’s refreshing and daunting all at once. It’s an exciting time for me, although I’ll admit it’s causing me a splodge of anxiety, I guess that’s to be expected. So today I was sorting out my apartment and deciding what I’m keeping and what I’m not, and guess what....(Incase you wandered) I’m keeping the blanket!! My absolute favorite make ever and honestly my favorite possession . Drops alpaca crocheted into hundreds of Japanese flowers! I hope to have this blanket forever!!! Anyways enough about me.....How are you all doing? I do hope well.... thanks for sticking around even though I’m not particularly active at the moment, it means the world to me, to know you are all there! Matt xxx
Well I must say.... I’m really happy with how this turned out. A very simple project, with a nice sunny outcome! Ugly stool is now transformed into something lovely and rainbowy, fit for a queen (what did you call me?) Hope you have all had a splendid day? Matt xxx
A work in progress shot from me today. I’m working simple rounds of hdc, crocheting a gorgeously vibrant rainbow to cover this ugly stool I bought. It’s coming along rather nicely 😊
This is me looking giddy as can be as I matter on and on about life!!!! This cute little pineapple is from the book Whimsical Stitches I mention it in my latest vlog post. As well as whimsical stitches I talk about my time in London, friends, moving home, books and of course my latest crochet makes! My latest vlog post is now live on my blog... link is above in my profile. Matt xxxx
Today has been a productive one.... ok so I didn’t get showered until 14.00 but I’ve been a busy bee. Did you check out my Instagram stories, I spoke a little about how I take my photographs. This was the photo I took throughout my little pajama clad tutorial. It’s a nice little shot as I work through the pineapple pattern from the glorious book whimsical stitches by @amenagerieofstitches I’m looking forward to sharing my book review with you all soon! Hope you have all had a smashing Sunday! X
Making lovely things certainly comes with ups and downs. Sometimes for two steps forward you need to take a step back. That was me today as I frogged a good few hours of work. The stitches weren’t quite working out and so I thought it was best to re-do some of my work. It’s part of the process and something that I know in the long term I’ll look back and know that I made the right choice pulling my work and giving it another try. Frustrating but necessary. I’m totally happy with my work now though!! Yiiiiipeeee!!!
Last night I felt inspired to get my hook out and just start making something. Something simple and meditative, bright and bold. I’m loving it so far and the colors are giving me all sorts of life! Let’s see where it ends ups, but for now I’m more than happy with it. A BIG HAPPY RAINBOW ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
If that’s not a splurge of happy colours, I don’t know what is. I’ve been playing around with a new mandala pattern. I’m writing it up as I work it out..... nothing like some mathematics on a Sunday afternoon to keep the brain engaged! What are you all working on/ up to? Matt x
Cooeeee! I’m back! Hope you’re all doing fabulously? What a great month I’ve had, taking a break from my blog was nice. Taking a break from social media was HEAVENLY! I needed the break from the fake. The month has really made me shift in energy and focus, literally reevaluating my life and realizing what I want and what is actually important to me. With some new insight, new focusses are heading my way and I am beyond excited. So the month was spent in London dancing, working extremely hard.... and guess what.... this boy can still get his legs up! I’m back home now and keeping the new focus but of course doing a little blog/ crafting work along side. Today I started working in a fun little project from a book that had been delivered during my absence... whimsical stitches by @amenagerieofstitches I’ll let you know how I get on, and pop a review of the book up on my blog at the weekend, so you can all have a peep. Hope things have been good with you all I’ve missed out interaction ☺️Matt xxx
Hell lovelies! Hope you’re all doing well? So I’ve been thinking about the next weeks and I’ve decided that I’m taking a little time out. I’m in London at the moment and spending a nice chunk of time here working hard on myself, my dancing, my head... and exploring what I really want out of... well.....EVERYTHING. Taking a break from the social media is needed, sometimes it’s so consuming and honestly we all know that it’s not “real life”. I’ll probably continue to post some live videos and maybe you’ll get the occasional post... but nothing frequent I’m afraid. I hope you understand that a break is sometimes needed, a bit of self reflection and a time of no judgement, no pressure to deliver and no comparison of my real life compared to a glossy Instagram shot. I’ll be back properly mid July.... Thanks always for the love and support you give to me and my crochet work. Your encouragement fuels my creativity! Matt x
M is for Matt, that’s me! M is for mushroom 🍄 M is for Mini Make Along! Toadstool tin caddy pattern is released tomorrow at 10.00am.... are you joining the fun? Info about the pattern, yarn and equipment needed for the MAL is over on my blog and also on the @scheepjes official Facebook page.
I’m teaming up with @scheepjes next week to host a mini make along! Rather cunningly named a “SHROOM-ALONG”! It’s a fun little make, looks super cute, but is also really functional as you can store all of your crochet hooks, stitch markers and darning needles inside. Not to mention the top is a rather handy pin cushion! If you fancy joining in, more info is available on my blog! Mushroom 🍄 Matt x
When you’re feeling lousy..... nothing like a cute little unicorn to lift your spirits! ❤️ 🌈☀️⭐️ patterns by @picapauyan
Hello lovelies! Today didn’t quite go as planed, didn’t get my list ticked off and ended up going back to bed with the aches and a fever. Boooo hooo! New day tomorrow though, so I’m hoping a good nights sleep will get rid of my bout of man flu 😷 I’ll leave you with this.... a shot I took yesterday of my gorgeous mandala made using the pattern from Emily Littlefair @theloopystitch.... it’s gorgeous!
