A little to the left then a little to the right, then you make it lowercase and then you make it uppercase, and then you move it to the left again. That's very much the creative process. And then if you get into a creative block you chat it out with a friend like I did today (thanks @theroutinecreative!). And then you trust the process, sprinkle some magic and then a cute little graphic like this is born. What's your creative process like? Is it as winding as mine? ✨✨✨
Feeling lucky and grateful for the people I get to work with and that I get to do what I like for a living. Speaking of amazing people, I started working with @lalalocal so I have the words la la on the brain 😜🍀✨💚
I love the little design community I've found here on Instagram. My fellow designer @theroutinecreative has been an Insta friend for quite a while. We've often messaged each other back and forth on Squarespace tips, high-fived each other on awesome projects we're working on and been supportive of our endeavors. 🙌🏼 So when he asked to feature me for his blog series, Routine Talks, I couldn't say no! Feel free to click the link in my bio to read the full post (along with other amazing interviews of creatives!). ✨ But I want to share one of his interview questions which was what advice do I have for someone just getting started as a creative entrepreneur. My number one advice is don't feel that you have to do it like everybody else. 💁🏻 Just because every other designer does things a certain way doesn't mean you have to in order to be successful. Focusing on your own strengths and unique talents are what will make you not only successful, but happier on your journey.
Here's what my schedule looked like today: 9am client call, 10am work work work work, 1pm client meeting & brand launch, 3pm oops I forgot to eat lunch before the client meeting, 4pm decide to end the day early. How was your day? ✨🤗👋🏼
I've been getting a ton of questions and emails about how I started Little Trailer Studio so I'm pleased to announce that I'll be speaking at @bunchmagazine's conference next Friday! ✨ I'll be talking all things freelance, how I got started, successes and mistakes I've learned along the way, and key strategies to take your freelance business to the next level. 💻 And in honor of International Women's Day I'm happy to say that I'll be sharing the virtual stage with plenty of other amazing women of color. The conference is online so you won't need to even leave your living room or coworking space! Today's design for fun is inspired by my friend @alexandrascadiz's insta feed. She recently went to Dubai and has all these gorgeous pics of mosques that totally remind me of Aladdin. I love the intricate details in the architecture and makes for a super cute pattern. ✨🕌 Hope you guys are having a good day! 👋🏼
