On this day of love and hearts and chocoIate and roses I wanna give all my love and appreciation for my creative community and my insta community. I've been designing all day I'm grateful that I get to do what I love everyday and I appreciate all the thumbs up emojis, comments and likes. ☺️✨🙏🏼❤️ ✨ Anyway I've been working and designing all day and midway through the day I get the urge to celebrate Valentine's Day. This happens every year pretty much. So to celebrate all this love that's going on I'm doing a giveaway (I've always wanted to do a giveaway and this feels like the perfect opportunity). I have these keychains that I got made for my first year anniversary (shout out to my bf @jsusjacobo who made them for me by hand) and I'd like to give some away. It says forge your own path and it's a little reminder to stay true to yourself as you embark on your creative journey. First person to comment below will get one in the mail. 💌 happy valentine's day ❤️✨💋
The journey of a bike drawing. I recently wrapped up a branding project with @laurenannephotography and one of the elements of the brand that had the most refinement was the bike illustration. We started out with the intention of the brand being sketchy and hand-drawn. But even with clear creative direction and the perfect mood board, the execution is still a highly iterative process and after many rounds we decided to go in a more clean/vector look which I think blends better with the rest of the brand. ✨👌🏼✏️ ~ draw scan draw scan. trace trace trace. feedback feedback feedback. draw again scan again draw again scan again. work on the logo then back to the bike. make it thicker make it thinner. then more feedback. a little cleaner a little neater. draw. scan. draw. scan. ~ That is the creative process. It's winding, it's messy, it keeps you up at night but it’s beautiful all the same.
I've been working on a new branding project with @autumnhachey and seriously there is no lack of inspiration with this girl. I basically have her Insta feed open on my computer as I design and draw and brainstorm ideas. If you want a daily dose of heart eyes, go follow her 👉🏼😍. Anyway here's a little snapshot of what I'm using to draw inspiration from and some preliminary sketches. ahh this is going to be a fun one 👌💋✨💕
Lord I was born a ramblin' maaaaaan. Trying to make a living doing the best I caaaan. 🎶 I woke up this morning and literally started singing that song by the Allman Brothers Band as my bf got ready for work. I replaced the rest of the lyrics to when it comes to hiring for Little Trailer Studio, I hope I can do the best I cannnnnn. 🎶 The song has a cowboy rough and tumble feel but something about it captures the creative entrepreneur/freelancer/accidental-biz-owner lifestyle that I've found myself on. This week I started interviewing designers and I can't help but feel a mix of excitement, curiosity, anxiety, gratitude and that overall keep my fingers crossed feeling. I know many of you who are on a similar journey can probably relate. ✨ photo by @kristenboothphotog
I am sitting on my sofa, scheduling a meeting with someone in the UK, all while finishing up a branding project with a gal in Australia, and in two weeks I start another project with a vintage shop in Toronto. So my phone has all these time zones on it, I guess you could say Little Trailer has gone international 😜 ✨ Anyway, speaking of cities and places, I recently launched the brand and website with travel blogger @atasteofkoko (who is based in Austin). She's quite the international gal herself so it was fun to create little icons for all the places she's been to. 👌🏼 🏢 ✈️ ✨
