Reading our worn out copy of #martinsbigwords tonight. When I was 19 I was stationed in Alabama. One Saturday my roommate and I got a pass to go off base. She wanted to visit the Civil Rights museum and Dr. King's church and all I wanted to do was visit the Hank Williams museum. I barely knew who MLK was (I was kind of a hick) and so we set off to the church and a little old man came out to greet us, told us how he begged Dr King to come and be the pastor at this church. He answered my roommates questions while I just stood back and watched and let her have the moment. We visited Rosa Park's bus & the auction blocks. I never knew this history. It's not something that was taught in my tiny Texas town. At the end of the day my roommate was a Hank Williams fan and I told myself my kids were damn sure going to know who Dr King is.
Ordering my seeds today. It's already time to start some things here. I'm envisioning more flowers/herbs this year and less tomatoes. Much of what I planted in the ground died last year because we have horrible volcanic soil but I've been amending the hell out of it. I'm just going to plant as much as I can squeeze in this tiny yard. Hopefully the next person who lives here enjoys it. 🌻🌼🥀🌱💐🌿🌷🌸
Little altars everywhere to remind me where I came from 🙏🏻
Home alone for the first time in weeks 🙌🏻 I love my kids but god they are so loud. Enjoying every minute of silence. I'm off to get some acupuncture today in hopes it helps me 😴 have a good day internet friends
Another day...sipping nettle all day, still no 😴 & another rejection letter but not letting that make me a bitchy mom or give me an excuse to check out today #theworldisabundant #staypresent
