#PacificStar Esitone Pauga is the new Operations Capability Manager in the new Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ). Esi, is the highest ranking Pacific Island officer in FENZ. As a proud Samoan, he was one of the founders of Afi Pasefika which is a group of Firefighters in the Auckland Region who apply a Pacific lens and values to the work they do in the community. Esi’s new role carries a massive responsibility to ensure all frontline firefighters are properly equipped and supported to carry out the work our communities need when we dial 111. Moving down from Auckland for his new role, Esi is also working with regional FENZ leaders to establish Afi Pasefika in Wellington and eventually across the Country. Thank you for your work Esitone.
