As photographers, I think it’s so important to truly invest in our couples and make sure that they feel confident and ready for their big day. Planning a wedding is already crazy enough, so my job is take whatever worry they have about their wedding day off of their shoulders. Before every wedding, I sit down with them over a cup of coffee and just talk through any concerns they may have about the wedding day, cover all of the logistics of the day itself, then I help them create a custom photography timeline that tailors to their day and focuses on what is most important to them. My biggest aim is to make sure each of my couples feels confident going into their wedding day, knowing that they will be provided with the best care and attentiveness. I want them to fully enjoy their wedding day, free of any stress or worry!
Even though it’s the warmest it’s been in a while (a whole whopping 56 degrees!), I’m so ready for warmer weather! Anybody else?? Jeremy and I have been taking long walks every single night after work, and these past few days have been COLD. 🥶Daydreaming about Ashton and Peter’s gorgeous summer wedding and warmer temperatures!
Some days, owning your own business can feel like the most amazing and rewarding thing, while other days leave you feeling completely overwhelmed and defeated. And today, my friends, was the latter. I spent the majority of the day dealing with computer issues, I had a mountain of emails piling up that I intended to respond to, and a lot of editing in the queue that went untouched due to those computer issues. . But then something crazy happened. I had reached a point where I was just about to break down and throw in the towel for the day when a little voice in the back of my head was telling me to crack open my devotional book and read today’s devotion (another thing that I didn’t get around to this morning. Spoiler: I don’t have it all together). . I immediately went to my nightstand, opened to the page for today’s date, and began reading. It was all about keeping our eyes on God, even when everything around us seems to be crumbling. When our burdens seem too much, we should call out and ask for help. . So you know what I did? Just that. And you know what happened next? I went back to my computer, which hadn’t been working all afternoon, and it was up and running. Perfectly! . My prayer for this year is to seek Him more in moments like this, whether it’s in those big moments of fear and uncertainty, or the small moments where anxiety takes over. Remembering to trust that he will continue to lead me through the hard days or seasons of life!
I cannot believe I’m sharing my very first wedding of 2019 on the journal today! Kyle and Molly’s wedding day was the sweetest celebration, and getting to spend the day with these two, capturing their first moments as husband and wife, was such a joyful experience! I’m always so humbled by the fact that my couples chose me to capture these priceless memories for them, and for that I’m beyond grateful.
