Me when I realize I have the next 9 days off of work. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
“It was always you.”
Having the laziest Sunday today and I don’t hate it.
My nose hair froze today so I think I’m ready for it to be warm again. How much longer until spring?
Going on 60 hours of work in 7 days. My word today is patience. I tend to be a little moody on my last shift so deep breath Brookie, be patient and kind. ☕️
I legit am so obsessed with this polar bear. She has developed the cutest personality in the last couple weeks, and really loves her momma. My heart might explode I love her so much. #goodhairday
I’ve been up most of the night not being able to sleep. I encountered a car crash last night on my way home from work where I was the first one on scene. As the police officer arrived, we carefully monitored the hurt victims in the car, and my nurse mode went right on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I do this every hour and every minute at work, but this felt different. I didn’t have oxygen available, I didn’t have monitors and medications and IVs and beeping sounds, just the sound of people crying from being hurt. It took a good 5-10 minutes before ambulances arrived and so I sat there consoling the women in the backseat with oxygen and blankets on them, trying to tell them, even though they didn’t speak English that they would be okay. I’d be lying if I said I went home a lot at night from work and couldn’t sleep because of my work day. Our critical care team literally saves lives constantly, and that to me is just an every day thing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have been up most of the night thinking how grateful I am God has given me so much skill to respond to situations even when they might be out of my element. I’m not feeling like sharing this because I want to be thanked, but because I am so stinking proud of myself and everyone who has taught me how to be a critical care RN. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have so much more on my mind about this, but the words just aren’t there. The one word that just keeps coming back to me is; grateful.
I’ve been working hard adding recent work to my website, re-doing my brochures, and updating a lot of behind the scenes things to help with functionality and man I love pretty photos and I’m so excited to be able to serve YOU better. In the last year or two I’ve really hit my style very well and am so happy to be able to deliver a consistent look for what my clients are looking for. It gives me so much joy when I can deliver images that years from now you can look back on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thank you for this beautiful table setting @pristinefloral. ✨
Sweet baby girl Aria. ✨
I’ll take the smell of a wood burning fireplace over a new perfume any day. All my clothes from the cabin and my dog and my own hair smell like wood fire and I don’t want to wash it away. The cabin brought me so much love and gratefulness this last week. Being in a quiet area and just slowing down and relaxing was much needed. Best way to start the new year!
Final getting ready details for beautiful Vanessa. A classic example of how beautiful a black and white photograph can be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Loved working on this wedding with @trishburtzel.
So much to celebrate this year, I have no plans for 2019 but to live more and worry less. Cheers! 🥂
Safe to say she likes it here.
Just Mother Nature showing off. A foot of fresh snow at the cabin, I wanted to go snowshoeing and skiing today but the current wind chill temp is -21, so I think it’s a movie and book day instead. Perfect way to ring in the last weekend of the year. ✨
I feel the need to be completely honest to so many people that have followed my photo journey. Over the last week, I have decided to take some time over the next month to reset and recharge. Except for my current projects and people who have reached out to me, I have decided to take the whole month of January and a good portion of February off from photos. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one that is most definitely needed. I am going to focus more in 2019 on the shoots that I love and ones that charge me personally to keep doing what I love. Don’t fret if we’ve talked or you’ve already inquired, I see you waiting there in my inbox and will be getting back to you shortly! Trying to manage a full time career and business has been very tricky this year and I’m still figuring out a way to manage it all. Thank you all so much for being so great and supportive and being such faithful friends to me! I look forward to serving you all in 2019 ✨✨
I got 2 huge Costco size bags of @starbucks coffee for Christmas. I’m pretty sure Santa knew how much coffee means to me. ☕️
Merry Christmas from the Aho’s ✨✨
Happy THIRD birthday to my Isabella Noel. We love our Christmas Eve baby. Lots of treats and kisses for you today Izzy! (Per usual 😉)
Beautiful table setting details. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Florals: @pristinefloral
My heart always loves being up north. We have a fire crackling, my man and doodle at my side, and no plans except for what type of frosting I’m going to put on my Christmas cookies. The hustle and bustle of the cities is also exciting, but so is the quiet and silence of the up north cabin. I will never take this feeling for granted.
