PV=nRT Émile Clapeyron combined Boyle’s Law, Charles’ Law, Avagadro’s Law and Gay-Lussac’s Law into the Ideal Gas Law 1834. And for most of 2020 my brain has been offering this gem up unbidden at the oddest times with the same delight and excitement as a child launching into the 1200th round of old McDonald had a farm. Middle of the night: Ideal gas law, Feeding the chickens: Ideal gas law, In the shower: Ideal gas law...I’m hoping reading this will at least move my brain along. It was a great smooth read like all of Sam Keen’s work. Always delighted to pick one up, always sad to end them. #idealgaslaw
@poillywoig 's gorgeous composition of flatworms, the last from our Body of Inquiry collaboration with @jasonpollen and @molecularmirror, is up at the 10th and Main downtown KCMO metro stop for the summer as part of @artintheloop ! Go check it out! When we gathered together as a group and explored flatworms from all our different perspectives a common thread we all talked about was communication and community and I think William Plummer captured that perfectly in their metro stop composition. As a group, we spent two years communicating (so much science, and art and personal experience!) and building our own little community of four from very different experiences, ages and brains… It took a lot of in real life time to get to know each other and connect and see things from each other’s perspectives. Time spent doing just as much listening as talking, just as much curious asking as honest sharing. Just like the balance in William’s piece. I think that’s the biggest joy for me, I thought I was a good listener, I was, but now I’m even better (turns out you get to work on that your whole life y’all) and I’ve never been a good sharer, but now I’m starting to be. Thank you William, Mol and Jason.

Big Congrats to all the classes of 2020! This isn't nearly as important as literally every other graduation out there but it's official, we're graduating from #fancyfriday. It's graduation season and like most graduates we're still fond of where we are and the journey to this version of ourselves but it's starting to feel a bit like we're outgrowing this space and we're ready to move on. As on all journeys, we've learned about ourselves through this. For example, I really DO love a good floral pattern (Linda not so much), and Linda really, really likes a workday in floor-length tulle (I really, really do not). But mostly we've learned that we don't have that many clothes. Especially for warm weather. Thank you to everyone who has participated, encouraged, and followed along! Please know that we are taking parts of this forward into something that looks more like #fullydressedfriday featuring shorts with a closure mechanism (of any kind) and a whole shirt. For those of you who feel #fancyfriday- is serving you well, keep it up! We'll be rooting for you and loving all the posts! Who knows, we might come back to visit every once and a while. Today's #fancyfriday is taking it back to roots and is brought to you by an awesome and empowering undergrad education from @cedarcrestcollege , some HP vibes and #goodsirrupert who cannot. get. enough. tassels.
Mood. #goodsirrupert #pitbullsofinstagram
#fancyfriday florals and alliteration this week: Tulips (my shirt), Tigers(linda's shirt) and Tulle! One of the things we are grateful for right now is that its spring and no better way to celebrate that than floral prints!
It's #fancyfriday y'all and you know what? Last week was SOMETHING and this week, well, hey, that's a clean shirt ,and I've got real pants on! (It's been all gym shorts all week)Enough about clothing, this week's fancy is fancy plates today. My mother's/great-grandmother's China for coffee, lunch, and dinner. (Look, real talk here. The real fancy about today is that we FINALLY really cleaned the coffee pot. For the first time since work from home started. I'm lying, since 2020 started. The only place there's more crud, is in my hair to get it to do that...) Y'all got any fancy going on?
Best part of the week is the early morning garden hour. Hands down (and in the dirt!). First green garlic of the season from @oleyvalleyorganics - thanks Aunt Barb!
It's #fancyfriday and I think we might have turned a corner, a good one. It's ALL GALA ALL DAY! But with shoes we actually want to wear.
Seen in our neighborhood on one of the two daily walks last week, the teddy bear #birthofvenus. Thank you neighbor for the unexpected delight!
It's #fancyfriday! Black and Blue Blazer edition. Featuring those floral pants I've never worn. What are y'all doing or wearing to make this Friday feel a little fancy?
It's #fancyfriday. Look, we went all out last week and this week, well it's been a little rougher than last week. To pick our spirits up a bit we each picked a theme for our outfits today that let us be more comfy. Linda's: Fancy PJs (featuring a Tshirt dress and the fluffiest robe we call The Bear- it's cold here today y'all!). Mine: Favorite Places (each piece comes from a favorite place! and altogether looks like my ideal gardening outfit which is ALSO a favorite place!). Comfy #fancyfriday it is!
Monday. Linda moved back to standing at her desk. Mine only does sitting. Our morale officer doubled down on the reclining desk option. #goodsirrupert #pitbullsofinstagram #pitbull
It's #FancyFriday! This week brought to you by @linda.misiura HS formal wear collection. Yes that is a tulle skirt w pearls & blazer & boots. Yes that is Linda's 8th-grade dress made by her mom... 20 years later?! yes that is our best attempt at a traditional prom photo. Also, PEARLS. What are y’all doing for #fancyfriday- it can be as fancy as putting on real pants! Which if y’all got kids at home is truly a heroic effort. A smile will do too!
