Oh yea...it's fun and all when I receive messages here on Instagram from clients and couples looking for that oh so special painting or piece of heirloom wedding art...but do you know what also makes my heart smile? When fellow creatives who are more at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journeys follow along or reach out. As someone who spent a few years fighting and studying how we, as a community (and even country) can better support our artists and humanitarians, it really makes me smile when I see someone who has enough heart to just go for it...to give this world the talent they've got. Because, believe me, you are doing this world a DISSERVICE by NOT being you and NOT giving us your all. So, if you're more towards the beginning of your artistic/entrepreneurial/maker/humanitarian journey...how's it going? What's good? What are you struggling with? Talk to me :) (image by @vanessasmithphoto)
Did you catch my Instagram stories? It's all sorts of invitation suite prep up in here! Before these pretties make their way into loving hands, real brush strokes are applied for an extra special dose of texture...and love, of course. Here, I'm applying some glops of my favorite heavy body white paint to the cherry blossoms on the front of this bifold suite inspired by the @hayadamshotel. Venue painting on the front, custom bride and groom painting on the hotel's famous balcony...overlooking its even more famous neighbor!
Trust me...this suite looks just as bright and delicious in person. With so much green featured on the front of the gatefold invitation card, I knew this suite inspired by @oakalleyplantation was going to need some good old-fashioned southern prep! One of the best parts? Guests think the party ends with envelope? NOPE! Open up the gatefold, just like a good ole southern gate, and VOILA! Party on the inside, too! So much thanks to @creations_by_sasha for her graphic genius.

As I've spent the past few days reflecting on how much I now ADORE painting architecture, I couldn't help but remember L + K's amazing wedding outside of Philadelphia's City Hall planned perfectly planned by the ladies of @eduncanevents ! The bride specifically requested that their live painting highlight the grand columns and impressive stone of the building they wanted so badly to marry in front of. And with a wedding party of 19, it sure was a grand event to capture. This painting meant a lot to me because the couple not only helped me check Pennsylvania off my list in my quest to live paint a wedding in EVERY US state, but it was the first painting I got to finish here in my studio in our new house! . Now booking amazing 2018 couples in love for live wedding painting experiences.
Gotta start this Monday off right! Invitation designs, house portraits, proposal paintings...oh my! What are you tackling this week? I would love to cheer you on!
Did you hop on over to my Instagram stories yet? You totally should! It was especially for you pretty people who happened to miss my newsletter than went out yesterday morning (but you should totally fix that by signing up through the link in my bio!) In them, I break down the invite by walking you through what inspired me to create this oh so lovely invitation suite for @heatherbengeevents inspired by the gorgeous @thewhitesparrow ! I always use my stationery designs to walk guests through a story. For example, in this invitation suite, I use two venue paintings to introduce guests to where they will be partying the night away! First, a cute venue painting of the exterior of the barn is used on the formal invitation card, whereas a painting of the interior of the barn is used on the details card that contains more information about the local area! . Do you have a love story worth telling? Now's the time to start chatting save-the-dates if you're getting married in the spring or summer 2018! I, and my paints, can help!
So, today I'm being totally basic: a Starbucks has been consumed...a pumpkin pie is in the oven...football is on the TV. And so, here's a pic of Tim and I from our amazing engagement session with @lizfogarty doing one of the most basic things a couple in love can do: a brunch picnic. Also...I can't even right now that our 2 year anniversary is this Tuesday!! Where has my life gone?! Oh well...it's been the best two years ever.
