Officially caught up on editing today. I’ll just be cuddled up here for the rest of the year drinking wine and eating alllll the treats 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Last night we had a wine and charcuterie night for Chantale’s 30th!! Tried to get a good sisters photo at the end of the night and got photobombed by Dad. 😂😂
Soph and our favourite police officer ❤️
You shoulda seen the look on his face when the tree farmer told him he looked big enough to help his Dad carry the tree 😂😂
SHE’S THIRTY!!!! Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister Chantale!!! Welcome to the thirties!! 🙌🏼 Chantale is the quieter goofy one in our family. We always shared a bedroom growing up and although we fought more than we got along, I couldn’t imagine growing up without her! She’s caring and thoughtful, she’s funny and an incredible Mom and although she isn’t a hugger, she still “lets” me give her a hug from time to time 😂❤️. Almost all of my memories growing up include Chantale, from blindfolding each other and jumping from her bed to mine when we were little, to the time she hung my bras and underwear all over the inside of our tent while camping cause she was mad at me, to the time she borrowed my belt 😂, and the time she called me to tell me she had taken the bus to see Kyle in Calgary but hadn’t told Mom and Dad but she had to talk to someone about how pretty the Rockies were! Chantale I love you! 💕Happy Birthday and I cant WAIT to celebrate with too much wine this weekend!!
Yesterday was the first time since I think May? Where I’m actually reading a book at home. I LOVE my career and photographed so many amazing people this year, but I tend to forget the editing that follows. Every afternoon, and night since May I’ve been best friends with Netflix and I’ve powered through 6 full shows 🤦🏻♀️ and my computer sees me more than literally anyone else 😂. Most nights editing starts as soon as the kids go to bed and lasts until 11ish, and occasionally if Marcos not home, midnight and 1am. Preschool days are rush home to edit. My two daycare days are nonstop editing and Marco has been amazing and is home one afternoon a week so I can edit through dinner. I booked a bit more this year than I probably should have and heard from lots of friends and family that they never see me anymore 😢. When I get overwhelmed and stressed, I tend to retreat and become super introverted. I get quiet, I don’t sleep enough, I get overtired and I avoid making plans with anyone, mostly because I know I’ll be awful company and I’ll feel guilty for not editing. This year helped me learn where my boundaries are. I am working on my 2018 business plan and it involves some harder limits on how many weddings and photo sessions I’ll let myself take on! Even though I’m 8 years into owning a business, I’m learning every year is so different and as the kids get older and sports are now a big part of our lives 🙌🏼 it requires us to be even more dynamic in our business planning and I need more room in our schedules, not only for them but for quality time with friends and family. So here’s to many more days of book reading, or actually picking up some of my hobbies again. 😍
