My adopted little sister @jenn_473 convinced me to start a 12 week @rpstrength diet with her and I for some reason agreed. And got suckered into agreeing to do a horrendous workout if I fall off the wagon! I'm 9 days in and feel amazing! I have so much energy!! No more 3pm crash, falling asleep on the couch by 7:30, and I've even been extending my workouts! It's been pretty easy so far, until I unpacked the two boxes of wine my Dad dropped off last week. I split two wine kits with him and my sister BEFORE agreeing to this diet and of course it's no alcohol...for TWELVE WEEKS! So I'm currently looking for advice on how to parent without wine?
I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. Winter got me. It was fricken long and I got super introverted, which I've learned isn't good for me 😂 I need some outdoor adventures. A hike. A walk. Some random Wednesday exploring. Coffee in the mountains. Even just a drive in the mountains. Who's in?!
Take me back to Cali when this was my Monday morning view 😍 *anyone who hasn't read this book, go buy it now. It's made it's way into my top 10 favs for sure!
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not. - The Lorax #earthday
It's not hard to decide what you want your life to be about. What's hard is what you're willing to give up in order to do the things you really care about. - Shauna Niequist So write a list she says. Two lists actually. One to write down all the things you do do (insert Chandler style giggle here) and a second to write down things you don't do. The first will be easy. The second will be hard, but life changing. It's freeing to write down the things you don't do, the things you're willing to let go of. I don't scrapbook and I rarely print photos. I will never have a landscaped garden. Cleaning my house falls very fall down the list. I don't iron. I don't wash my hair everyday and I only wear makeup once or twice a week. I don't craft. I don't spend much time decorating my house (Christmas excluded for obvious reasons). I don't paint my fingernails or get pedicures. I don't grocery shop inside stores. And given the choice between cooking and baking, it's one or the other. If I'm baking, I'm not doing dinner that night. I still struggle, and this week for some reason the struggle was so real, but making a list gives me a sense of permission. I don't have to do it all. We have to know what's essential in our lives to truly live it to the fullest. Sometimes things that seem good, fill our lives and hold us back from being great. Make your lists and tell me what you don't do! I love hearing the things other people have given up!
Since January, I've only missed one week worth of workouts (#springbreak) and I've followed my macro counting 90% of the time! So the countdown to Operation Easter Cheat Weekend was on! Easter has by far my favourite candy. Cream eggs, mini eggs, my moms homemade eggs, but mostly cream eggs. I could literally eat 5-6 in one sitting. (Last night I had 3 🙈) I am proud to say my cheat weekend was impressive. I went all out. Wine, sooo much chocolate, beer, cheesecake, you name it! Nothing was left uneaten 😂Buuuut today it's back on track and due to my over abundance of chocolate yesterday, the leftover mini eggs aren't even calling my name 🙌🏼
