Best facial cleanser for winter skin! This gentle cleansing balm removes oil & dirt while healing and nourishing dry winter skin. Rub onto dry face, cover with warm wet washcloth to let oils soak in, and gently wipe away. Recipe: - 1.87 oz (weight) shea butter - .48 oz (weight) mango butter - .1.1 oz (weight) calendula infused sunflower oil - 4 drops vitamin e - 12 drops rosemary essential oil - 2 drops clove essential oil Directions: Weigh shea and mango butters in beaker, place in double boiler on low and slowly melt. When butters are nearly melted, add infused oil and continue to heat until blend is completely melted. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes, then add vitamin e and essential oils. Mix and pour into 4 ounce jar. Refrigerate immediately (this will prevent any potential graininess (caused from fatty acids in shea butter separating from cooling too slowly) *Recipe makes about one 4 ounce jar * Can also be used as a conditioning body balm Recipe created by Jess Mullins, ESHM graduate and owner of of Found Herbal. “Snow falls gently and silently, teaching us in our own process of educating others and educating ourselves, that we need gentleness. If we educate with a sledgehammer – with unceasing rain pour – it will simply submerge and destroy the crops. Even when it rains on earth, science tells us that on a higher level, the beginning process could have originated in snowflakes. So snowflakes are a symbol of that first gentle step...” -the meaningful life center @wellspringmountain

What do you think of when you hear the word marshmallow? Does the word itself invoke memories of a childhood past? Does it make you think of bonfires, laughing faces, smores and hot chocolate? Or when you hear the word marshmallow, do you think about the dryness of winter, and the cooling of a freshly decocted, mucilaginous tea, made out of the roots of the beautiful and mysterious flower above? Have you ever thought about the connection of the decotions texture and likeness to the lining of your mucous membranes? Have you thought about the ability of this plant to cool down the hottest of inflammation and to soothe the deepest of mucosal heat? #goodmedicine #coolingoff #eshm #clinicalpractice
