Working with some interesting angles on these legs leads to some even more interesting tapers at the bottom. There are two more square legs that will get a standard five-sided taper, so I need to make these weirdos make sense with that. The first on is two pieces. All of the long angles were cut on the table saw and all of the tapers were done by hand with my block plane and and shoulder plane.

It’s International Women’s Day today and this one is the best person I know. She’s achieved so much in her career, and as an artist. There is a room in our home that we have done very little to on this #MaryJaneRehab journey that we’ve been on. There were some holes in the wall and some electrical work that needed covered until some point down the line that we can address this whole room. Anything that we did to cover this up was just going to be a Bandaid. So... the thought occurred to us to just go ahead and make it a literal Bandaid, and when you have a jig saw and a brilliantly talented wife such as I do, it’s quite easy to make silly things like this happen. Thank you, @jennygermann for your help.

Custom hanging sign for our tax advisor. The oval was cut from a solid slab of African Mahogany, the lettering is in 1/4” laser-cut, powder coated steel, the bracket is masterfully welded by my buddy @ben_deluca, and it hangs from stainless braided cable. Special thanks also to my lovely wife @jennygermann for painting the gradient background. It took a lot for all of these elements to come together and I am very happy with the finished product. These babies come in at just under 10’. The glass alone is taller than the front door at our house. In fact, if these doors were on our house you would be able to see into bathroom on the second floor. Fun project.
