On Instagram, they wrote: “Two years ago today, y’all, we turned the ‘open’ sign around and started welcoming Nashville booklovers into our tiny, cozy, ‘nook for people who love beautiful books’! We’ve since graduated to a slightly larger space, more than quadrupled our offerings (look at those barely filled shelves!), and played matchmaker for thousands of books. Yes, you CAN make a difference. In a single person’s life, or in the landscape of an entire community. When the Narrow Gauge Newsstand closed in March after serving the Alamosa, CO community for 40 years, residents banded together to create a movement to reopen the downtown anchor as a Co-Op. After months of raising awareness and funds, The Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative successfully reached its goal. All eyes are on Colorado as we anticipate the opening of this new indie bookstore. Located in a historic (1847!) home, The Haunted Bookshop is a true destination—though ghost hunters should probably cross it off their lists. One month ago, NOLA welcomed brand new children’s indie bookstore Little Bookworm to town. 🐛 The young readers’ paradise carries an assortment of new and gently loved books, as well as “natural, safe, and educational toys.” One Yelper compares the new space to Hollywood’s classic ideal of a charming bookstore, The Shop Around the Corner.
