STORY TIME — A few weeks ago I had a lousy date at a museum with a man who was obviously uncomfortable and somewhat intimidated by it and how into it I was. He was horrible at expressing his lack of interest — because I assume he assumed I’m only interested in someone with my exact same tastes. To this day, all men I’ve dated were allergic to books/reading. ☺️ As long as you let me enjoy what I enjoy. I have no preference. — It quickly went downhill. I asked him if he wanted to leave numerous times (this was his idea!)... My point is not in the details but, let’s leave it at it got from bad to WTF. I don’t think the point of a date is for either party to be miserable. But I also don’t think it’s the responsibility of the either party to decipher feelings/emotions you’re too ‘whatever’ to express. Point: if it wasn’t for all I’ve read and continue to do so, I’ve probably end up with the “all men are the same” mentality. Maybe I’d try to take some blame. Maybe he would’ve succeeded in making me feel as lousy as he made himself feel. Maybe the experience (and previous others) would deter me from dating altogether. Maybe I would’ve stayed in an abusive relationship years ago. Maybe I wouldn’t know the hundred different ways it’s not about me personally. I’ve said this so many times.. books have saved me + healed me. Happy #BookLoversDay — aka every day for me! — P.S everyone would benefit from a little (lot) of @brenebrown + @cherylstrayed in their life.
👋🏻 — #InternationalCatDay is the perfect day to pop back up!
Ate my weight in scones + tea. Hashtag living my best life. Whilst inside the tea house, I spotted a bunny (in my stories) and as I was heading out.. this gorgeous creature! — #BasicallySnowWhite

Last Friday.✨ Didn’t want to be stuck in that (Los Angeles) afternoon rush hour traffic so detoured to this magical place for a bit. Of course I didn’t come home empty handed.
