Meet Kate Orchard! This intrepid little lady was the winner of IWEco’s “My Favourite Tree” competition. She wrote about her Cordia trees. Kate lives in St. Kitts and Nevis and worked at the St. Christopher National Trust and the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park for years. This former biology teacher has a wealth of knowledge about the natural environment and is an active birder and snorkeler! A true Citizen Scientist! IWEco’s National Project Coordinator in SKN, Halla Sahely, took her on a walking tour of the project site in the College Street Ghaut today and presented her with tokens of gratitude for her lovely entry. Here she is, in the midst of the recently planted vetiver (which is thriving thanks to the recent abundant rain). Congratulations and thank you for the inspiration Kate! #CaringForOurFuture #NosImportaElFuturo #iweco
