I grew up in Delaware (you can say I'm almost a country girl), lived in Boston throughout my Harvard college days and finally Los Angeles got my heart. I moved here full of dreams & ambition. I absolutely loved it from the very start. Everybody was from somewhere else and drawn by the dream. Even here many times I was feeling like an outsider. I remember that one time I rushed into a coffee shop right before my medical class school class wearing my lab coat hearing someone saying it's not Halloween yet. I went there again a few weeks ago, got a coffee, sat down and smiled. 20 years later all my dreams have come true. I love LA ❤
There is a difference between being liked and being valued. Many people are liked but not valued. Be valued.
Super fun but long surgery day today. First I performed a tummy tuck on a young mom. She has a beyond amazing result and I’m so excited for her to see her results. Then I had a complex labiaplasty with clitoral reduction surgery on a young woman who had a lot of asymmetry and excess labia causing discomfort. At the end of days like this, standing on my feet for hours, I’ll admit that that I’m pretty exhausted. But that is greatly overshadowed by the pride I feel from creating an amazing result for my patients and the joy of being able to help them and improve their quality of life. And as you have noticed in my earlier posts I like to show you guys some contrast in my reality - a less glamorous side of my life vs my glam side. I love both of them as they make me who I am and I’d never want any other life. I like to show the contrast to all of you who work long hours, hustle, and don’t feel that you are getting rewarded. #plasticsurgeon #bestjobever #lovemypatients
Some fillers can be used for wrinkles in the neck. In this video I use Restylane silk to make this patient’s horizontal neck lines look smoother. @surgeon #fillers #wrinkles #plasticsurgery
Twenty years after the Spice Girls’ sparked global girl power with Wannabe, the chart-topper has been remade to highlight gender inequality issues faced by women across the world. The video has been remade to push a series of UN global goals including education, gender equality, equal pay for equal work, child marriage and an end to violence against women. I love this.❤️ #girlpower ❤️
I can’t wait to travel again. I’m thinking my next destination will probably be Thailand. If you could travel at this moment what destination would you choose?
Remember the rough time you thought you’d never get through? Well you did, and you can do it again and again. When life gets overwhelming, just take a deep breath, try to smile, and remember that everything will work out as it’s meant to be. @mymdglam
Mondays are great for fresh starts. This is the beginning of anything want. Sending love & positive energy. Let it circulate.
Here is a picture of my dream car I got today - a Mclaren in its racing Orange paint. Next to it is a picture of the first car I got when I moved to LA - a 1998 Saturn. I had worked a lot in college and medical school tutoring, doing work study, and modeling to save up enough money to get a car. Although it wasn’t anything fancy, I was still super proud that I had worked hard for it and it got me to class and to the library to study. For those of you who are working hard along your path to your dreams, remember that we have all been there. Life has not always been glamorous and it has taken a long time to achieve success. #nevergiveup
It's fun getting up early on a Saturday morning when you love your job more than your sleep. I hope you have all had a great day so far. ❤️#plasticsurgery #mdglam
This young woman lost over 100 pounds through gastric sleeve surgery and diet and exercise. As a result she had an extreme amount of excess skin. The skin caused a lot of discomfort and also made it difficult for her to wear many different kinds of clothes. She underwent tummy tuck surgery to tighten her abdominal wall and remove the excess skin. I removed over 18 inches of skin and the flap that was removed weighed almost 10 pounds. I feel so blessed to have participated in such a life changing surgery! @surgeon #tummytuck #plasticsurgery #gastricsleeve
Our biggest dilemma when taking selfies is always whether to look in the phone lens or at the actual photo. 😂❤️ @binais
