🚯TAKE 3️⃣ FOR THE 🌊... it’s still unbelievable that we could find 2 whole garbage bags of rubbish just in the gardens around our kindy and car park!! The owls put on their gloves and got to work! Every little bit counts 🌏 . . #plasticpollution #take3contributers

The owls played some tic tac toe with their grand friends today.. but instead of the usual naughts and crosses.. we embedded some Indigenous learning by using our Aboriginal symbols cards.. It was great to see the children trying to explain what they thought the symbols meant to the residents!
Today the owls were inspired by Indigenous Australian artist @naomi_hobson_artist We looked at some of her amazing paintings and then talked about cool vs warm colours.. 💚💙💜❤️🧡💛We loved using hair dryers to dry between layers and then some fierce black and white for our patterned top layer! These beautiful pieces now decorate the office!
Ceremonies play a very important part in Australian Indigenous people’s culture. Ceremonies and rituals are still performed across Australia.. One ceremony we talked about with the owls today was Corroboree - where friends and families interact through music, costume and dance. It is sacred and varies from region to region and can include body paint, ornamental coverings and colourful cloth clothing. We looked at some pictures of Indigenous Australians all dressed up and then had a go at painting our own representation of these images. ❤️💛🖤
At Little Diggers we acknowledge and remember the families that were affected in the stolen generation on #sorryday .. We are lucky that we have the opportunity to educate the children in our care and help them to understand how important Aboriginal history and culture is in Australia.. We look forward to celebrating this amazing culture during reconciliation week. ❤️💛🖤 #sorryday2019 #reconcilitionweek #aboriginalhistory #indigenoushistory #timeforchange #education #earlyeducation #sharedunderstanding
P is for pancake! 🥞Today the owls made their own pancakes to link with our learning about the letter ‘p’.
Thanks to our fabulous friends Donna & Angela from @backontrackconsultancy for presenting a great workshop to our families.. Set for success - school readiness! It was a great turnout!
The owls were making up stories using our Indigenous symbol cards. We talked about how the Aboriginal people didn’t have phones to ring people, so they might draw pictures on walls or in the sand to let others know that what was going on..❤️💛🖤
Easy peasy maths! We put our counting and sorting skills to use as we made a tally of the m&m’s in our bags! The owls recorded the number of chocolates by colouring in boxes on their columns- the incentive is that everyone gets to take home their m&m’s afterwards!
Dawn service at the War Vets.. Up bright and early with the kookaburras to remember the Diggers past and those still serving. Lest we forget
LEST WE FORGET 🇦🇺♥️🇳🇿
This year is the 80th anniversary of what we today call RSL Life Care (“The war vets village”) Our beautiful bush community opened on Anzac Day in 1939 and was originally called Legacy Park... and it was a haven for veterans of the First World War. It has since been home to countless veterans of every campaign Australia has played a role in. We are proud to be a part of a place where they care for the community’s veterans and where we can continue to share mateship. We celebrate Anzac Day in the village today with a march and service.. 🇦🇺♥️🇳🇿 #Lestweforget #wewillrememberthem
Anzac Day is approaching and we’re lucky enough to be in a village full of Anzac history. The owls have been working on Poppies and learning about Simpson and his donkey..
Oh my gosh... you won’t believe who hopped by today... 🐇
