One of my favorite things about being a wedding planner in Charleston is the incredible history behind so many of the venues! Getting married somewhere with it’s own story is so special, and I love when couples find ways to tell their guests a little more about the background of the place that they chose to say their vows. It’s just one more layer of the story that the two of them are writing together, and the history buff in me just can’t help but swoon!
It’s not often that your child gets to play a part in one of the most important chapters of your love story! For Jaime and Erik, being able to include Harper in their vow renewal made the day that much more special. I can’t get over this sweet image of Erik and Harper together, and all of the happiness that @rachelredphotography was able to capture in just one snap!
When you’re daydreaming about your perfect wedding bouquet, it’s important to keep the style and design of your dress in mind! I am obsessed with Jaime’s dress from Kate McDonald bridal, and was so excited to use it as inspiration for her bouquet. It was important to me that the bouquet felt simple, so that the fun pattern of the dress could really shine, so I decided to stick to only one type of flower (garden roses, of course!), but play with texture by using some unique types of greenery! How are you tying your wedding dress into your bouquet design? Photographer: @rachelredphotography
There is nothing quite as exciting as a bride being inspired by my own work! Megan fell in love with the color palette from this shoot, and we used it as the basis for her entire wedding design. Pairing pretty blush tones with darker colors adds some depth and dimension, turning an otherwise girly color scheme into something sophisticated, yet still romantic. Megan embraced this concept to the fullest, making her wedding one of my favorites to date! I can’t wait to share some of my favorite images from this spectacular love story with you soon! . Meet my office assistants, Max & Simon! These two don't actually help me work…in fact, they do the exact opposite. It's not always easy getting things done with one cat on your lap and another on your keyboard, but these two love to snuggle, and I’m certainly not complaining! _ photo: @rachelredphotography
What’s my favorite part of planning weddings? Without a doubt, the flowers! One of the unique aspects of being an LBE couple is that I not only help design the overall look of the wedding, but also execute all of the floral elements in-house, ensuring that the entire design is cohesive. But, it’s more than that for me. Arranging bouquets, centerpieces, and all of the floral pieces leading up to the wedding is an avenue for me to pour all of the love that I’ve developed for my clients throughout the planning process into a tangible outlet for their wedding day! I love carefully turning all of our inspiration and brainstorming sessions into something that they can actually touch, and seeing their faces light up when I bring in the bouquets is one of the most gratifying moments of their wedding day! _ photo: @rachelredphotography
Thank you for the review: Literally just got back to the PNW after our wedding ceremony in Charleston, SC and I can't even express how happy I am that we had Lindsay help us out in our intimate ceremony. My fiance and I never imagined how special of a day our wedding could be until she helped to build that picture for us, and we were even more blown away the day of!!!!! I had the most stress-free and happy experience planning our wedding which I know isn't always the case. My advice to ANY bride who has it in their budget would be to hire a coordinator, specifically THIS coordinator! She is willing to be as hands on (or hands off) as you want her to be, she's easy to communicate with, and she literally thinks of everything! Zac and I have talked about the day ever since it happened and we can't stop smiling! - Caroline It was such an honor to be a part of such a special day, Caroline & Zac, and I think you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to turn your dreams into a reality! Caroline & Zac are a couple after my own heart! As soon as Zac proposed, Caroline knew that they had to get married back in Charleston, her hometown. After being a part of a number of larger weddings, and seeing the amount of stress that they put on couples, the two of them were looking to do something a bit different. They opted to keep their wedding intimate, inviting only 12 of their closest family and friends to a meaningful, yet breathtaking ceremony at the Governor Thomas Bennett House, followed by a great meal with some of their favorite Southern dishes at Poogan's Porch (can you say killer friend chicken?) They wanted to keep things simple, stress-free, and full of tons of flowers, and I think that together, we did just that!
Isn't the light streaming into this sitting room at the Governor Thomas Bennett House oh-so-dreamy? One of my favorite things about planning weddings in Charleston is the number of amazing historic venues. Built in 1825, @govthomasbennetthouse is full of gorgeous antique furniture, and has so much personality...it's truly one of a kind! I especially love their lush courtyard...it feels like you've been transported to a secret garden, but really you're right in the middle of downtown!
Caroline & Zac's flowers were all about texture. From giant, bold King Protea to fuzzy bunny grass, ruffle-y roses to crinkled raspberry greens, layering a number of different textural elements can make an arrangement that may only have a few ingredients feel extremely complex!
