ALERT: Regine Tadeo, 17 years old, was taken from her mother and human rights workers by the Philippine National Police in Abra who claimed that they should have custody over her. They had no warrant of arrest and no charges were filed against her. The Tadeo family and people of Malibcong, community elders from both Malibcong and Boliney, lawyers, and human rights workers are currently asserting for the immediate and unconditional release of Regine to her family. #saveourschools🆘 #liftmartiallaw Urgent alert from Karapatan Caraga: About 424 households with 2,047 individuals from 9 lumad communties in Lianga, Surigao del Sur were force to leave their homes after a bomber plane was seen circling their mountain communities in the middle of the night yesterday, July 5, 2015. Around 200 learners of ALCADEV and 43 volunteer teachers of 5 community schools of TRIFPSS also evacuated. A total of 633 lumad learners are affected with the suspension of classes due to the evacuation. Military troops belonging to the 75th IBPA, 36th IBPA, and 6th special forces batallion have been conducting military operations in the lumad communities of Lianga, San Miguel and San Agustin, Surigao del Sur since July 3, 2017. A stricker military checkpoint was placed in front of the military detachment in Post 1, Brgy. Diatagon, Lianga, Surigao del Sur, requiring residents and visitors to the schools to show their ID or write their names in a logbook since president Duterte's Martial Law Declaration last May 23. The 9 communities currently dislocated just started rebuilding their farms, homes and schools after they with other 17 lumad communities were forced to evacuate for a year in Tandag City last September 1, 2015 after the killing of MAPASU chairperson Dionel Campos, ALCADEV director Emerito Samarca and datu Bello Sinzo. The massacre was perpetrated by members of a paramilitary group magahat who were accompanying operating troops of the 75th IBPA. In 2015, while in the evacuation center, 5 lumad volunteer teachers and 6 community leaders were charged with cases of human trafficking (violation of RA 10364 section 4 (i) ) at the Lianga RTC Branch 28. The evacuees are currently staying at the Simowao Tribal Filipino Community School about 9 kms. from the national highway and poblacion of Brgy. Diatagon. LIFT MARTIAL LAW NOW!!!
