  • i was never a diy person. I was a why would you want to do that when you can just buy it person 😑

hey, both are ok. But what I learned through giving diy a shot + plenty of trial and error.. is that taking something second hand, old or even damaged and transforming it into something beautiful is so damn rewarding. Best described, scoring something super marked down kind of feeling.

These nightstands were given to us probably nine or so years ago and been apart of so many seasons of our life together. They’ve been through six differnt moves. Held new sparkling wedding bands, breast pumps and baby wipes. So, so many glasses of water and delicious hot coffee that turned cold.

If you think about it, these nightstands have been the unnoticed MVPs. They put in work and it showed. They desperately needed a facelift. While we were under contract, awaiting our new house, I gave them just that. Swipe —> to see the before!

  • I just saved $1,200 this month by avoiding Starbucks, Chick Fil A and the grocery store.

Did you know Matt and I used to on average spend $1,600 a month on groceries and eating out. SIXTEEN HUNDRED Y’ALL. That is $19,200 a YEAR. Shook🤯

For the last year and some change, we’ve been spending roughly $100 a week on groceries for our fam of four. YEP, It is doable. Yes, It takes adjusting. Yes, we have food in our house. So how do we spend only $100ish a week + stay on budget? Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way that work for us..⠀

1️⃣ Shop once a week. This has made all the difference. Shopping only once a week helps with “I gotta run to the store real quick” let’s be real, as soon as you step into the store.. you’re going to spend more than you had anticipated. The temptation is real, friends. ⠀

2️⃣ Use what you got. I bet, you have stuff in your pantry or freezer you’ve forgotten about, USE IT, even if you have to get creative. ⠀

3️⃣ Plan your meals. Only purchase what you need. Splurge when you can but not every grocery trip. Trust me, you don’t need that extra bag of chips. You can always grab that flavor next week 😏 ⠀

4️⃣ Avoid the store: order online. This is a HUGELY how I stay on track. When you order online and use the pick up option (I use Instacart) you see everything in your cart including price + total. ⠀

5️⃣ Switch your grocery store. I went from Publix to Aldi and it made a world of difference! Our dollar stretches a lot more at Aldi.

6️⃣ Make a little extra so you have some leftovers! Which keeps you from cooking/spending on another meal.

I dare you to see what you spend monthly on food 🙃 PS, I have one $10 off coupon from Instacart left, If you want to try it out, message me to snag it!

  • I know a girl, she puts the color inside of my world. 🌈 This past week with Camden in school, we’ve had one on one time, allowing me to enter into her little world. Hers is magical, full of color, filled with sparkles, sequins and all of the good things. Please, stay this little, okay Harper?

She promises me that she’ll be my best friend forever and I feel like if I call her that 1000000x times a day it will make it true, right? 💖

  • A year ago in June, I started a new journey by embracing motherhood with less stuff. The constant feeling of being behind on chores, anxious and overwhelmed was the determining factor in my decision to live a simpler life.

I found myself spending more time tending to the house, our belongings than tending to my kids. And truthfully, the time + energy needed to care for our stuff while caring for my family was draining ALL the joy right out motherhood.

I wanted out of the life we built. 🤭

Matt has always been more easy going, simpler than me. When he brought up the idea of wanting to live tiny + minimalism, I was shockingly equally as intrigued to that way of thinking/lifestyle.

Life with less has been so rewarding. It’s been refreshing pushing our boundaries + comfort zones for the bigger picture. It took me thirty years to realize possessions do not define you, your “status” or even your success.

Minimalism isn’t about removing the things that you love. It’s about removing all the things that distract you from the things you love. -Joshua Becker

  • Ok, I cried. This handsome dude crushed drop off. (I had my doubts) I cannot believe my baby is in school! I’m so excited for for him, and ready to get back to some normalcy. #firstdayofschoolever

  • Home Sweet Home. We had a great little weekend getaway in Jax but it feels so good to be home and to be honest, I missed our bed. 😆

anyone else insist on returning from a vacation to a clean house? Is that just me? I can’t exactly put my finger on it but its just so damn satisfying. So much happening this week, trying my best to slow down and savor these moments in the thick of all this chaos.

  • oh, Cam. How I love being your mama. Big things happening over here. Camden had his VPK open house/meet the teach this afternoon. We’re pretty stoked for back to school. ‘Twas a very long spring break for all of us😅
